When people ask what my favorite type of photography is, my answer is usually “whatever I find most frustrating and time consuming.”
From time-bending long exposures of the night sky to waiting on a dang bird to stand in the right spot for a sunset photo, I love photography because it constantly challenges me to go beyond my comfort zone and create storytelling moments.

I’m sliding back into posting mode after a little social media hiatus, and I’m so excited to catch up with all of you while sharing my latest adventures under the stars. 🌠

Let’s kick things off with something special happening this December—a Black Moon! 🌑 This rare phenomenon occurs when there are two new moons in a single calendar month, thanks to the lunar cycle being about 29.5 days.

Here’s the breakdown:
🌙 First New Moon: Tonight, Dec. 1, 2024
🌕 Full Moon: Dec. 15, 2024
🌑 Second New Moon (Black Moon): Dec. 30, 2024

While it’s not as famous as a "Blue Moon" (the second full moon in a month), the Black Moon is equally fascinating and often brings the darkest skies—perfect for stargazing and capturing the magic of the cosmos.
