I realized today that I neglected to post to my page another project I completed some time ago. This was an easy project to create because I just love color! Hopefully, I will find my way back in the Caribbean soon. There is still so much more to see!

The Best of 2015 award is well deserved. It should also apply to Affinity Designer, a great and powerful replacement to Adobe Illustrator. Love both products and I can't wait to see what is next!

Today I received the newsletter from the Lowell Community Health Center. In it, it featured the story of one of my images that was donated in support of the Health Center.

ArtUp: A perfect way to honor your loved ones, friends or colleagues

For Maureen Gervais, ArtUp has provided the perfect way to honor the memory of her late husband Steve. Through ArtUp, patrons can purchase artwork for permanent display on the Lowell CHC walls, with half of the price donated to our annual fundraising and the other half to benefit the artist.

Maureen decided to donate "Beach Days," a photograph by local artist Janice Lind, because it reminded her of the view from the family's beachfront home in Kennebunk, Maine, where so many special family memories were created. An accompanying plaque will read simply: Donated in Memory of Steve Gervais.

"This photograph reminded me of Steve," says Maureen. The couple was among the first to donate to the capital campaign for our new building on Jackson Street. "We were in there on the ground floor, and it made me happy to be able to donate something more to the health center and to honor Steve at the same time."

What an honor. I am deeply moved that this image brought Maureen warm memories of her late husband, Steve. And her generosity will in turn help the Health Center meet it's fundraising goals. Thank you, Maureen.

A couple of things to note for the new year.

I recently updated my webpage. It still needs some work, but for now I changed the appearance, added some new work and removed some old.

I also changed camera systems. For years I shot with Pentax, one of the best deals you could get for a really good and underrated DSLR. But the weight of lugging around the camera, lenses, etc just didn't make sense anymore.

I switched to a mirror-less system, the Sony A6000. Far more compact and lighter. So far, I am quite impressed. And the beauty of the Sony is that with adapters, I can still use all of my old Pentax glass (with really wonderful results, I might add).

My next goal is my first full frame camera, the Sony A7II.

Happy New Year!
