Company/Owner story:

I have been practicing photography as an art since 2006 and I've been fasinated with the art even longer than that, As long as I can remember I have always wanted to take pictures, whether it was with my parents camera or my own. In 2003, (age 15) my father gave me my first 35mm film camera (I don’t remember the brand). In 2005, (age 17), I recieved my first digital point-and-shoot HP camera. Without the limits of a film camera, I started snapping photos of everything around me! In 2014 (age 26), while in school for my AA I took a photo-journalism class and I bought my first digital-SLR (Canon T5 Rebel). Realizing my ambitions to become a photo journalist, I continued to take classes to improve not only my writing skills and ethics, but my long time hobby of photography. In 2018 (age 30), I graduated with my Associate of Arts, and rejoined the workforce. I took the highest paying job I could find as an assembler at a publishing company. The job was rewarding, but I quickly burned-out, and could only find solace in my mountain drives with my camera (and dogs of course). By the end of 2019, I was fed up with working a job that didn’t promote personal growth. Afterwards, I worked odd jobs, and booked a few portrait sessions to buy myself time to find a job that felt right for me. In January 2020 I was hired as a school portrait photographer. Everything happened so quickly since then. In March 2020 I was laid-off from my dream job. I immediately started looking into how I could continue to be a photographer. In May 2020, I registered for my Certificate of Trademark and Employer ID # and started operating my own Portrait Photography Business; CLaW Photography. Fortunately, I was hired back as a school photographer in July 2020, and have since been working while building my business. Portraits aren’t all I do though! Check out my landscape and wildlife photos, also!
