I filmed a tick 🕷️🔥 the other day moving much faster than I ever expected🕷️ . What caught my attention even more was what looked like a thin strand attached to it while it moved. I'm not the only one whose aprrantly reported this...
Whatever the explanation, it's a good reminder to stay alert. Ticks can carry serious diseases and health risks, so always check yourself, your family, and your pets after being outdoors.🌿☘️🌱

Some mornings don't need a lot of words.
Just a quiet moment, and a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple things.
This is Smokey. Around here, he's the early riser, the watcher of birds, the inspector of breakfast, and the keeper of peaceful mornings. Today he decided to sit still long enough for a portrait, and those eyes say more than I ever could... so I decided to make a portrait.
Wishing everyone a calm morning, a full cup of coffee, and a little bit of the peace Smokey seems to have figured out at near 20 yrs old.

The Ohio River is becoming part of the future 🌊💻 Data centers. A.I. Infrastructure. And I’m not against growth.. But while we’re building the future… maybe it’s time to care for t he river too 🧪🚰🌱 Water is life 💧 Not just for us, but for our children and the future too 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🌎 This is a beautiful… beautiful area 🌊

🦅 Osprey Over Appalachia
Caught this one over the Ohio River between Ohio and West Virginia (on a turbine job)
Eyes on the water.
One dive.
One chance.
The osprey was hunting the Appalachian waters long before we showed up with cameras.

For size comparison The Osprey is much larger ..

Old Appalachian Remedy 🌧️🍯🫙⛰️
Mason jar on the counter. My Appalachian family used to make things like this when the weather turned and cold season came around. Not because it was trending. Just because every house seemed to have something sitting on the counter when the rain came in. Honey, ginger, garlic, apple cider vinegar. Old remedies passed from one generation to the next. My mother’s side is Kentucky. My father’s side is Pennsylvania. Both Appalachian. A rainy day in the kitchen. An old Appalachian remedy. Just an old passed-down family remedy and tradition shared for history, memory, and conversation 😋 (This is Not Not Medical Advice)
