After the Garland of Roses was draped over Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike, his jockey Sonny Leon grabbed a handful of roses and tossed them skyward.

Notice the lighting... there wasn't much bright sun on Derby Day, but this one beam shone on Rich Strike, almost like nature putting a spotlight on him (and the Derby 148 logo on the groom's bib).

The sunlight was not in either the frame I shot right before or after this one.

Sunset over the Ohio River at Louisville.
It initially appeared there would be no “light show” of a sunset this night, so I started experimenting... seeing what I could do with the clouds.
And then the color showed up,providing this tie-dyed sky.

Byodo-In Temple was built in 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii.
It’s a scale replica of a 950 year temple of the same name in Uji, Japan.
This one was built completely without nails.
In 2019, National Geographic magazine named it one of the world’s most beautiful Buddhist temples, noting its architectural details and inspiring surroundings.

This is what I saw the moment I stepped on to Lanikai Beach.
It's a beach with fine sand and said to be so popular, a lot of people there are looking for a new "favorite beach."
It wasn't crowded at all this day. That could be because this was around 10am on a Thursday and not everybody in Hawaii operates on "island time" all the the time.
