Better Together 💕

Words cannot express the light and joy this couple brings to this world. In one of my favorite musicals while proposing to his girlfriend, the leading male character says

“Will you share your life with me... till there’s no one left who has ever known us apart?”

I cannot say I understand what it feels like to “just know” that you have found the one person you’re supposed to spend the rest of your life with; however, my favorite part of watching dear friends fall in love is the moment I realize that I can’t remember what life was even like before they were together. They just fit so perfectly together, not to complete but to compliment one another as if they have found their missing puzzle piece. And even though this couple is seven time zones apart right now, it won’t be long until there is no one left who can remember what it was even like when they were apart. @ Kentucky

When it comes to being a photographer, starting out is a difficult place to be. There are so many people in this world nowadays who own cameras that cost a fortune and a lot of those people take fantastic pictures, but being a photographer is so much more. To me, being a photographer is about using my life, my story, my perspective to help others see and remember the beauty of moments of their story along the way. ⠀

Our social media feeds are cluttered with beautiful images but what power do they hold if they do not tell a story as well?⠀
⠀
So that is my aim. I hope that as we journey together we are not only partners in business but friends! And that maybe, just maybe, my story will bring a little bit of hope to yours. ⠀

Ya know, I don’t think I realized how much I love love until I started taking photos of weddings and couples! I mean, most people hate getting their picture taken, (which is a whole other topic of personal opinions that I am sure I will share in the near future) but when it comes to couples, they are not focused on feeling awkward in front of the camera. They are focused on being in love and soaking up every moment they get to hold in their arms the one that they love. ⠀

Oh! I can’t get enough of it! And with weddings, every detail is in perfect place so that the couple and everyone who loves and supports them can gather to celebrate them starting the rest of their lives together! What a joyous occasion! ⠀

As someone who has never been in a serious relationship, (which I’m sure will also be the topic of future posts) it is so easy for me to idealize marriage and a wedding day, but truth is: life is messy. Relationship are not like this perfectly prepared table. But that is what makes them beautiful! Empty chairs and impeccable place settings are lonely. I don’t know about you, but I’d pick spilled glasses and splattered food in order to have real, meaningful relationships any day!

Just last week, I had the pleasure of driving my little sister cross country moving her to college. Both Sarah and I (Kathryn) got to go, and what a round about way we took too!

From Missouri to Texas to New Mexico to Colorado to Arizona!

But quite possibly my favorite stop on the trip was to White Sands National Monument in New Mexico! The white landscape spread for miles beneath the blue sky, and this photography could not get enough. I was in my aesthetic paradise as loving life! 😂
