I’m that annoying guy who totally takes over other people’s Facebook posts when they write about travel because I think they want to hear my tips and recommendations.

Outside of admitting that I’m annoying, I make zero apologies! I wouldn’t say I’ve traveled extensively, but I have photographed some cool places, and if you’re mulling a Portugal visit anytime soon, you must head south to the Algarve region. The southwest coast is lined with rocks and arches like these.

I need to take another crack at Portugal, as I wasn’t in love with the pictures I made there. The ones I liked I posted on here several years ago. I’ve never posted this one and I just stumbled across it today and thought I’d try a little black and white action.

Did you know there are 72 last names of French scientists, engineers and mathematicians wrapped around the outside of the first-floor balcony of the Eiffel Tower in Paris?

The men were honored for their contributions to their respective fields in 18th- and 19th-century France.

I learned today that just this year, the names of 72 pioneering French women are going to be added as well.

Almost a packed house at Progressive Field on what turned out to be a lovely Friday and a great day for baseball. The Guardians won their home opener over the Cubs, 4-1, and it was a pretty fun game to shoot. Would be fun to start shooting baseball a little bit and learning the angles that come with being able to roam around the stadium!

I was talking to someone over the weekend who said she’s been to nearly a dozen Taylor Swift concerts, and that reminded me that I hadn’t posted a photo lately of Swift. I told my friend I had photographed three Taylor Swift shows, including her 2023 Eras stop in Cincinnati, where I made this picture.

I added the part about how credentialed shooters are only allowed to photograph the first two or three songs at most concerts. And at each of the Taylor Swift ones I’d shot, I was a little sad when security came to hustle us out of there, not because I’m in love with the music — I’m indifferent — but it’s hard not to love the energy in the building. It really is remarkable.

I have no idea when she might tour again but I will definitely try to shoot it, and who knows, maybe buy a ticket and stick around after my work is done!

Been shooting sunrises a lot the last couple of months in downtown Columbus. Eventually it feels a little repetitive because there isn’t a wide range of vantage points here, but it’s still fun to be able to capture the start of the day when the colors are working together to make a moment. It’s important to recognize such moments as they are happening, instead of waiting to tell the story later.
