I’ve been carving out more time for personal work — exploring reflection, movement and the spaces in between.

After years of documenting connection between people, I’m leaning into exploring the connection within.

I’ve been quiet here, but busy capturing the kind of work that makes me fall in love with photography all over again. Grateful for this season of growth, and for the people who trust me to tell their stories.

Let me guess, you are usually the one behind the camera documenting your family's life. When you scroll through your phone's photo album, there are countless photos of your kids, your partner, your pets, the grandparents ... but guess who's missing from 98.9% of the photos? You.

I get it, and I'm 100% guilty of the same. But I often think about the stories I want to leave behind for my family. Your presence in photos isn't just about you, it's about the legacy, the memories, and the tangible proof that you were there.

Years from now, when your children flip through old albums or scroll through digital galleries, they won't be looking for perfection. They will be looking for you, and the comfort of remembering what it felt like to be together.

Next time you think about capturing memories, jump in the frame. I'd be honored to be the one behind the camera. Let's make sure your story is told with you in it.

My secret to conjuring unscripted moments is simpler than you might think. Much of my approach is built upon unveiling honest interactions between people who love each other. I often kick off a session asking people to show me what love looks like. I find it fascinating that the result looks different for everyone.

People often clam up when a camera appears. One of the reasons I love photographing kids so much is that they aren't conscious of the camera the way we are as we get older. They are unapologetically who they are and that honesty is incredibly refreshing and beautiful.

When I invite people to show me what love looks like, the focus shifts away from the camera, and back to the one(s) they love. It's always my goal to bring people back to the now and, more importantly, to the love.

If you're dreaming of images that capture your honest love story, we just might be the perfect fit

Picture it: You're cruising down the hallway, 3rd load of laundry in your arms, thinking of all things you still haven’t gotten done for the day. You're doing a mental inventory of the contents of your fridge to determine what you might be able to pull together for dinner, but first you have to throw this load into the washer and zip out of the house in time to make it to car line. You round the corner in a rush, and you catch a glimpse of those frames on your wall out of the corner of your eye. Ah, your babies.

For a (brief) moment, you pause, and you exhale. And you feel immense gratitude for the faces in those frames; the little family you have created. It's a sweet reminder of what (and who) really matters.

I'd love to provide you with something tangible that highlights what you value most. Send me a DM and let's get a photo session date on the books. Spring dates are open now.

When I work with families, I'm often going after photos of everyone together, but I also like to narrow my focus on one person in particular when the moment strikes. Kids are especially fun with this approach because they are incredibly authentic and expressive. One of my favorite things about photographing kids is witnessing the process of them opening up and becoming more comfortable as the session progresses.

When you're in the thick of parenting, it can be challenging to breathe in, breathe out and be present. Why? Because there are a million things on any given day that need to be done and, when the daily grind is over, that's usually only because the kids are finally in bed. Around here our daily whirlwind ends around 9:30 pm, and by then, I'm cooked too.

If you're anything like me, you constantly feel the overwhelming guilt of not being present enough compounded by the sheer demands of the day-to-day. The "I want to just sit together and snuggle" becomes clouded by the "did you brush your teeth?" "Have you done your homework?" "Do you need a bath?" What is it that they say? There are not enough hours in the day. I think we could all use a few lazy Sundays that are actually lazy.

But there's something about the chaos that's absolutely beautiful. My husband and I remind each other often that someday we'll miss this season of life. When our lives are quiet again, I'm sure we'll relish in it for a bit, but I'm equally certain we'll find ourselves longing for a home full of the unmistakable energy of family.

And in the spirit of that energy, my approach to a family session is to simply ask that you come exactly as you are. Don't try to force your kids to sit still or to smile on command - let their wild, open-hearted light shine and I will handle the rest. I'm interested in capturing the truth.

Here's to beautiful chaos. Here's to authenticity. Here's to living out loud and taking up space and standing tall ... there's nothing more beautiful.
