Had the amazing opportunity to visit the beautiful state of Colorado this summer. I spent most of my time enjoying adventures and laughs with family and friends, but I was able to sneak away to grab a few stunning photos during my time there. The Dillon Reservoir is surrounded by snow capped mountains and offers an abundance of epic views.

As we head into the new year, I look back at how my life has changed throughout 2023. In February, I launched my photography website, which was a goal I'd had in mind for several years. It was such a relief to finally see my dream come to life. I was fortunate to squeeze in two vacations and capture new photos to share with you all, despite the long hours I worked at my day job. Apart from my photography related endeavors this year, I also got engaged to my beautiful girlfriend and we recently bought our first home together. Changes like these can be nerve racking, but the photo here reminds me that change can be beautiful and improving for one's life.

This stand-out leaf once looked the same as the green leaves around it. It wasn't a bad thing to be green, but it was Time To Change. And the change was stunning. I look forward to 2024 and the chance to make something big out of the improvements I made this past year.

Hey folks, I know I haven't posted in quite some time. I have been busy working towards huge personal goals, which has taken up the majority of my free time. The golden glow of daybreak filtering through the foggy rim of the gorge, was just what I needed after an unsuccessful attempt to capture the sunrise just 50 yards away. The goal was to get a wide shot of the New River Gorge from the Grandview overlook. A perfectly clear sky was promising, however the fog in the gorge never cleared to reveal the river below. This was the second morning I had attempted the photo. As I begrudgingly walked back to the car empty handed, my gaze was drawn to the forest. Conditions that had impeded my initial goal, presented an equally beautiful opportunity.

It was a rainy day in Babcock State Park of West Virginia, and I had just finished photographing the grist mill seen in my previous post. I walked around the edge of Boley Lake looking for a unique photo opportunity. This dark red leaf floating on the surface caught my eye. It was dotted with hundreds of water droplets of varying sizes. The leaf became the subject of many photos I took that day. This low angle close up incorporating the colorful forest across the lake, is my favorite.
