Cheers to 10 years of love stories told through my lens, and this one will always hold a special place in my heart.
Jayna and Nolan—two of the sweetest souls—trusted me to capture their intimate day, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Their love story began in the Coast Guard, a journey that brought them to Wilmington and ultimately to this beautiful moment. On a chilly January day, under a silver overcast sky, they said their vows on Kure Beach. The wind was sharp, the air cold, but North Carolina’s ocean views never fail to cast their magic.
It was the first wedding I captured with my 35mm film camera. The photos came out imperfect—grainy edges, soft light leaks—but it felt so fitting. Film, like love, isn’t about perfection. It’s about capturing the real, the raw, the beauty in every fleeting moment.
Jayna and Nolan’s story reminded me of the quiet strength love carries. It weathers storms, it embraces the unexpected, and it thrives in the simplest, most honest moments. Watching them laugh through the cold and hold each other close felt like a scene pulled from the pages of a novel.
This day taught me not just about photography but about the beauty in trusting the journey, imperfections and all. Here’s to Jayna and Nolan, and to all the love stories that continue to inspire.
