*** Sexual Assault of a Juvenile ***

On 07/24/2026, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office received a report involving a 13-year-old juvenile who had reportedly been followed home by an adult male and was believed to be in danger. To protect the juvenile’s identity and privacy, the juvenile will be referred to as “Confidential Victim.”

The reporting party told dispatchers that Confidential Victim had sent text messages stating an adult male had followed the juvenile home and entered the residence, but was currently outside the residence and making threats toward the victim’s family.

Deputies responded to the area and located 33-year-old Andrew James Lee near the victim’s residence and detained him. During the subsequent investigation, Confidential Victim told deputies that Lee had initially been encountered at a convenience store and later followed the juvenile to the residence. Confidential Victim also disclosed that Lee had committed a sexual assault against the juvenile.

Detectives were called to the scene and took over the investigation. Lee was transported to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Office for further questioning.

Following the investigation, Lee was arrested and subsequently booked into the Dambacher Detention Center on the following charges:
- 261 (a)(2) PC - R**e by force or fear
- 288 (a) PC - Lewd or lascivious acts of child under the age of 14
- 289 (c) PC - Sexual pe*******on of a minor
- 459 PC - Burglary

The investigation remains active and ongoing. We will be releasing no further information at this time.

Currently, all traffic lanes are blocked due to a multi-vehicle crash. Seek alternate routes.

As of 6:10 PM, the left lane is now open. The right lane is still closed for the crash investigation and recovery of the vehicles.

A naked man was found hiding in the ceilings of a plasma donation center in Fresno, California last week.

Police said a patient donating plasma looked up and saw a man peering through the ceiling, prompting staff to call 911.

When police attempted to get the man off the ceiling, he denied coming down and began kicking things from the ceiling. At one point, the man kicked a pipe that did hit an officer. That pipe broke causing water to flood the building.

Officers had to deploy pepper balls to get the man to come down from the ceiling.

On the line at the Gann Incident.

CAL FIRE CZU Strike Team 9174G from Ben Lomond Conservation Camp is working on the Gann Fire, now approximately 3,760 acres near Valley Springs in Calaveras County. Crews are constructing direct hand line, “connecting the dots” between dozer lines, roads, and natural barriers to strengthen containment and keep the fire within its current footprint.

This is some of the most demanding work on a wildfire, requiring firefighters to dig hand line through rugged terrain to slow the fire’s spread.

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. — A California Highway Patrol officer was seriously injured Wednesday morning after a crash involving a semi-truck on Highway 59, just north of Turlock Road.

According to CHP, the crash happened just after 7:20 a.m. when the officer, who was driving southbound on Highway 59, attempted to make a U-turn and did not see an oncoming semi-truck traveling northbound. The semi struck the patrol vehicle, pushing it off the roadway.

A nearby CHP officer responded within minutes, and firefighters worked to free the trapped officer from the patrol vehicle. The officer was then airlifted to a hospital in Modesto with major injuries.

The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

A 28-year-old Madera man has died after being pulled from Millerton Lake on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Fresno County Coroner's Office, Alfonso Gopar became exhausted while swimming approximately 15 to 20 yards from shore. Rescue crews located him and pulled him from the water after he had been underwater for about 20 minutes.

He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities say he was not wearing a life jacket.
