Unlike most wild cats, lions live in groups called prides, which can include multiple females, cubs, and a few males.
A lion’s roar can be heard from up to 5 miles (8 km) away in open grasslands.
Male lions can sleep or rest for around 20 hours a day to conserve energy.
Female lions are usually the main hunters in the pride and work together as a team to catch prey.
