🎵 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬: “Sideways” by Josh Gilligan

Released today on , Sideways is the second studio album from Nashville-based Josh Gilligan. Co-produced by Josh and zac farro, of Paramore, Halfnoise, and co-founder of Congrats Records, Sideways builds on the foundations of 2025’s debut album, Party Of One. The cover artwork was photographed by Tyler Krippaehne on 35mm CineStill 800T with additional photographs on 800T and BwXX, in 35mm and 120. Tyler and Josh share about the process for creating the photos together below:

”I’ve been fond of Josh’s music since I first heard it and have been fortunate enough to become close friends with him over the last few years. Getting to work with Josh, AJ, and Zac on what ended up becoming the cover for “Sideways” was such a treat. We didn’t have a strict plan going into the day, which allowed for the necessary space to try any and all ideas - Josh falling down the stairs being one of them. Leaning into that playfulness gave us what ended up being the album cover. This record is truly incredible. I’m so proud of Josh and everyone involved, and I feel lucky to have played a small part in building the world around it.” — Tyler Krippaehne

“I’ve toured a bunch with Tyler over the last few years, assisted him on shoots, and outside of work he’s really become like family to me. His work is real and personal. I don’t always know what to do with a camera pointed at me, but I knew that if I worked with someone who knew me well we’d probably get shots that felt right. In a creative context, friends gently push you to be yourself. Tyler and AJ + Zac (from Congrats) made this process the easiest it’s been so far. I never thought falling down the stairs multiple times would be the ticket, but we just shot rolls (800T!) until we got something we all thought would be memorable.” — Josh Gilligan

Releasing today, “Hollywoodland” is the latest EP from Japanese Korean American singer-songwriter Tiger La Flor. The cover artwork for both the EP and the single were both photographed on CineStill 800T in medium format by ANDREA RIBA. Andrea shared some words on the creation of the images:

”This was a close collaboration with Tiger, and we wanted to blend Tiger’s Korean & Japanese roots with old Hollywood glamour, inspired by classic vinyl covers like Martin Denny’s *Exotica* & *Exotic Love*, Ann-Margret’s *The Swingers*, and Al Caiola’s *Ambiance*. I chose CineStill for its natural halation, which fit the classic Hollywood world Tiger wanted to create for her EP.” – Andrea Riba

📺 NEW VIDEO all about the SpectraCOLOR Workflow! 🔆

As promised, we created a companion video to our last YouTube video — linus brings the processed negatives back to the CineStill Studio after a day of shooting 800T all around Los Angeles. Him and Brandon use the CS-LITE+ and the entire SpectraCOLOR™ Workflow to camera scan the film, and then convert the negatives using the FREE CS Negative+ Convert Tools, sharing how they got the final results that you saw in the first video.

You can now watch both of these on our Youtube channel at youtube.com/CineStill Film 📺

We hope this can be a helpful tool in showing you how you too can camera scan at home and achieve beautiful results. Comment below with your questions — from shooting film at different speeds, push processing, to scanning and converting! We’re happy to discuss all things analog. 🎞️

🎵 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬: “Pisces Dream” by Susy Sun

Released today, “Pisces Dream” is the fourth album from Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Susy Sun. The visuals for the album were photographed on CineStill 800T in 35mm and medium format by Daniel McDonald. The cover art is the result of the collaboration between Susy Sun, Smith Allen, and Dan. Dan shared some words on the creation of the images:

”One night, after Susy had approached me to collaborate on making some images for her new record, we sat on the floor and listened to the early recording of the album from start to finish. We both started visualizing something that felt like a half-remembered dream - in her words: “late at night, alone”. The whole shoot felt very personal. We used gels to bend and mix light, and even a fragment of glass that Susy supplied from one of her glasswork art pieces to add some texture. When I look at these images, I hear the music, and I feel what I felt that night hearing those songs from my friend for the first time. I hope that when someone picks up the record they get a sense of that too. It’s an honor to make things with people who trust you and challenge you, and to witness the massive amount of effort that goes into bringing a record into the world. Glad to have had a small part in that and celebrate indie music and physical media!” – Daniel McDonald

𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝟬𝟯 —

Our team loves shooting film, and we especially love to make images when we’re traveling to new places 🌎️ The CineStill Travel Diary is a series which highlights the experiences and the images that our team members create with CineStill film on the road. This entry is from Michael’s latest trip to the UK 🇬🇧

“I don’t know about y’all, but there are sparse things that manifest the inner shutterbug in the way travel does. It had been a minute since I’ve had the chance to travel internationally since moving back to the States from Japan over 2 years ago, so when the opportunity arose to travel to the UK this past winter, I was eager to reap the inspiration that is oft the boon of wanderlust.

Living in SoCal, we are a smidgen spoiled with the weather; our winters are sunny and 70**°**F (21°C). ****As such, UK winters are a bit of an adjustment; the 9am sunrises, low, grey and cloudy skies with volatile lighting, and then it’s dark at 3pm. Packing for such environs and lighting conditions, my go-to color film stocks were CineStill 800T and 400D. This combo has me covered for anything with the flexibility and versatility ideal for light painting Edinburgh and London in wintertime; a tungsten and a daylight balanced emulsion that can handle low light, muted skies, and provide some warmth to drab settings. Additionally, I found Heathrow Airport was, against most accounts online, very accommodating with hand-checking film. Not sure if I was just lucky, but kindly explaining the sensitivity and the importance that they not go through scanners seemed to help.” – Michael Nguyen

🎵 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬: “Night at the Opera EP” by

Released on June 12th, “Night at the Opera” is the latest EP from Chinese American alternative pop singer-songwriter .emei. The visuals for the album were photographed on CineStill 800T in medium format by . The cover art is the result of the collaboration between Sol Koi and Emei’s team. Sol shared some words on the creation of the images:

”The incredible Amalia Irons () and T Marsh (.marsh) brought me on to photograph Emei on the set of her music video for ‘Night at the Opera’. I’ve worked in the camera department in the film industry for 8 years, so visual language and storytelling have always been a huge part of my photography. I was given a lot of creative freedom, and I wanted the images to feel expansive/add on to what we see in the music video - the bathroom, basement lobby, and exterior of the theater were never filmed, so it was a perfect place for me to take over. Thankfully, I was able to come to the location scout with the director and cinematographer, and was able to compose my shots ahead of time and account for the lack of light/time, so CineStill 800T was my pick to help me get that extra stop and I’ve never been disappointed by the wonderful colors it produces - the classic red halation for the practicals in the space was also a bonus. After I get the film developed, I spend 12 hours in the darkroom printing the images. This is when the images come alive for me, and it’s a huge part of my overall process. It’s therapeutic, and there’s nothing better than seeing the images come to life right in front of you” – Sol Koi
