3D Scan LA Studios had the pleasure of meeting and 3D scanning several cast members of “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
For this project, we engineered a custom internal structure within our full-body rig to create the illusion that performers were suspended (hanging) during scanning.

It’s always rewarding to see how Odd Studio elevates our deliverables through their seasoned SFX team and deep practical effects expertise.

Projects like this are why we got into the industry in the first place. We’re incredibly honored to play a small role in the work of such talented artists and teams.

What an absolute pleasure it was to meet and hang out with for the day! 🔥 He took direction like a seasoned actor… in fact, every boxer we scanned for the Undisputed Boxing Game did.
About halfway through scanning the twenty or so fighters, it hit us… these athletes are constantly taking direction from coaches, nutritionists, and boxing mentors; so no wonder they were effortless to work with.
For a man Mike Tyson dubbed “The Mexican Monster,” David was every bit the kind, professional, and passionate individual you’d hope to meet. We’d gladly welcome him back to our studio anytime! 3D Scan LA Studios

It was our pleasure to welcome Owen Painter to 3D Scan LA Studios

As usual, we had no idea what the assets would be used for so it was a pleasant surprise to see Owen’s incredible performance as “Slurp” aka Isaac Night for Wednesday Season 2.

We captured full body scans for Costume Design and multiple Head Rig sessions for the various stages of Dental Prosthetics.

At 3D Scan LA Studios, we had the incredible opportunity to contribute to the upcoming A24 feature film Warfare by providing precision 3D scanning services for actor Joseph Quinn in his compelling role as “Sam.”

Written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza in collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Alex Garland (Civil War, 28 Days Later), Warfare offers a raw, real-time portrayal of modern combat—told from the memories and lived experiences of those on the front lines. This bold, immersive storytelling approach marks a new chapter in war cinema.

As a AI 3D Avatar benchmark, back in August 10, 2014, (now Studios) provided head and body services for Magic Leaps - AI Mica Avatar.

Over a decade later and I am still blown away by the work the “AI Mica” team did.

I’d love you see an updated 2025 Mica AI version now that AI Avatar building tools are readily available.
