Day 6 of 7 🌳

I’ve communicated before that this year I have significantly more weddings than in the past handful of years which makes me feel many things.

This technically which was an extended family session from my package list. We did mostly family portraits and at the end did a small 15 minute jaunt around the four seasons garden to capture these romantic portraits. My couple got married at the courthouse the day before and celebrated at the four seasons in their private dining room with family that flew from Washington & Korea is be there. It was a beautiful afternoon.

Unique. Special. Beautifully done. I love that about the sessions I document. There are so many reasons and stories for things, just life in general.

Day 5 of 7 🌸

I just gotta say, committing to something and just doing it IS empowering. Like committing to this posting every day for seven day thing. Or committing to a person. Or committing to a monthly hang. Committing to growing. Committing to changing the path of your life. Committing to living a life of resolution: with people and yourself.

Photos taken from my Spring Minis Session 1. In my back yard for my 5 photos in 5 minutes. But more like 15 minutes and 25 photos. I’ve been photographing this family for their entire childhood and that’s just a good feeling!

I’ve been setting my vision for my 2026 year and one of that visions is deepening my relationships with my clients. In this situation, time will do that. It’s been a highlight of my work to document this family in many growing stages.

Day 4 of 7 💍

When your good friend’s boyfriend calls you the evening before asking if you can photograph him proposing to her, YOU SAY YES 🤍 especially when you spent years praying for her husband. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I photographed this special event. Thankfully the camera was able to capture these moments even though my eyes were foggy & full of happy tears.

Day 3 of 7 🥂

Today I’m deciding to share a wedding which is very rare for me these days. This year, I actually have a handful of weddings that came out of the blue but events that I’m very eager & excited to document. Most of the couples are special, unique and long time relationships in my life.

I started photographing weddings when I was 18 years old and that was my main type of photography for over 12 years. My husband and I did wedding videos for another 6 or 7 weddings which was fun and we have some videos that I’m really proud of and enjoy watching.

Photographing weddings is an interesting space for me now with a long story attached. There was/is a period where I gave up pursuing and marketing weddings. In that time, I still photographed a few here and there. Mostly small, intimate elopements with deep meaning and beauty.

Probably like most photographers, I have a lot of unshared work. I haven’t shared a wedding in YEARS…but still I will be photographing some this summer (and already have this winter) I thought I’d share a more recent one.

I remember back when I was a new mom of 2 children, I saw a photographer recently have her third child and made a post that she was giving up photography for the time being. I remember feeling shocked and like “how could she?”….not in a judgmental way but in a way of “why would she stop something she loves AND is very good at?”

That has really stuck with me, especially being a new mom of 3 children and feeling the challenge to keep a business alive. In March I delivered 2 galleries and a few days past their due date, which is something i don’t ever do! But it alerted me that life is FULL as a mother, homemaker, house cleaner, wife, friend, photographer and many more titles.

However I don’t feel the pull to stop doing it but rather being more structured, committed and having new boundaries that help me flourish in it, to whatever degree I can manage it all.

I’ve had this feeling of committing to a posting challenge for a while…like maybe years. So I decided that I’m going to commit to posting new work for 7 days straight! Let’s see how it goes…

5 photos in 5 minutes 🌸

I really love this format of a session. I may perhaps make it a 1 time a year thing since my backyard suddenly BURSTS and then they all limp & die off the next week.

One of my strengths as a photographer is speed. I can capture what I’m looking for very fast, making even a 15 or 20 minute session somewhat long. Of course I love spending time with my clients / friends, so the time isn’t that in that way.
