Let’s take a sec to chat about daylight savings time… 😅🫠😂

I know I know you’re already bored lol but I promise there’s some helpful info for planning your shoot/wedding for when the sun sets WAY earlier!

We all know that this time of the year the sun sets STUPID early. I know you know that feeling of confusion when you leave the office at 5, and it already looks like it’s 9pm 🥴😂

But what the heck does Daylight Savings have to do with photos?

Let me tell ya 👇🏼

If you’re planning photos for this time of year with your S/O or your fam (I mean hello- the holidays are practically days away! And those cards aren’t gonna send themselves! 🤪) something to consider is having to plan your shoot to be in the late afternoon for the best lighting! If you’re shooting during the week- that might mean you have to take off work!!

And you’re planning your wedding or elopement for this time of year- DEF plan your wedding day schedule in accordance with sunset!! You don’t want your dream outdoor ceremony view to be pitch black by the time you’ve exchanged I-Do’s!

Hope these little tidbits about planning shoots/your wedding with Daylight Savings in mind helped!! :)

Let’s talk about elopements! 👇🏼

Over the years, the term “elope” has changed to mean more than what it was originally used for!

Eloping doesn’t have to mean that you have to get married in secret. Eloping doesn’t mean that you can’t have a big reception with all of your favorite people *later*. Eloping doesn’t have to mean that you just go to the courthouse. Eloping doesn’t have to mean that you *can’t* spend money doing exactly what YOU want to do to celebrate (ie going on wild adventures or having an extravagant dinner catered by a private chef for just you two!).

Honestly, eloping can look however YOU want it to look! That’s the beauty of it! ✨

Want to jump aboard an old ship and sail away into the sunset with the love of your life?! Want to backpack through the Swiss Alps? How about picnicking at the summit of the tallest peak in America? Or shouting your vows through valleys in the middle of the dessert?

You have soo much freedom to do whatever the heck you WANT to do.

And if you need an elopement photographer for your adventure, I’d love to be your girl 📸💁🏻‍♀️

I have two more weddings left for the rest of 2023- and I’m def feeling bittersweet about it.

I’ve shot TWENTY FOUR WEDDINGS since March of this year 🤯 and close to 60 shoots overall since the beginning of the year!

Although I’ve been shooting weddings part time since 2014, I never would have imagined that in my first year of full time, I would have had THIS much work.🥺

I just want to take a sec to say THANK YOU to every one of YOU! Whether you’re one of my couples 🤍, clients, friends cheering me on, lead shooters who hired me to second shoot for ya🤘🏼, or just a stranger following along on this journey…thank you thank you thank you for believing in me, trusting in me, and cheering me on! 🤍😭

Daniel’s proposal to Nicole was one of the sweetest things- and I got to be part of it in so many incredible ways 🥹

Daniel took Nicole sailing (like what?! How freakin DREAMY!) but on the boat, he had me hide the ring box attached with a note to a bouy. They went off sailing on their own and Nicole had no idea what was about to happen 🙊 He proposed while they were out at sea (can I say sea if it was actually the ocean? Idk it just felt right haha 😂) and I hid at the docks, so we could surprise Nicole.

We snapped some cutie pics right there at the docks RIGHT after the proposal went down (peep that last pic) and I went to my car when we were done and EDITED THE SNEAK PEEKS and sent them their way before they could even finish packing up their car!! 🤩 I was too excited haha 😆

Daniel then rented out an adorable cottage RIGHT on the beach for all of their closest friends that weekend, and I got to snap their engagement photos just steps away from that cottage with the dreamiest sunset as our backdrop.

I say it all the time, but I’m here to say it again- I love my job 😭😭

I have no words.

Well, besides being absolutely OBSESSED with this shot from this sexy, moody, vintage cocktail bar engagement session.

Earlier this year I had a call with a mentor/photographer friend ( ) and she told me that if I’m always searching for the ✨light✨ at my shoots, it would be an absolute GAME changer. Whelp, here’s the perfect example of how understanding light can absolutely make a HUGE difference in the final photo 🤩

This engagement shoot last week was soo fun, and I can’t wait to share more photos from it!! 🫶🏻
