Introducing the newest evolution of our Spheris line of stabilized arrays- The SPHERIS Air XL

Developed with our long standing partners The Spheris Air XL is currently configured to carry 6x RED Raptors and 1x Komodo. This fully 3 axis stabilized system was designed to be flown on Team 5’s long line system and the gyro stabilized “torpedo”. With this combination we have full 360deg fov and can fly at heights above 10,000ft and speeds over 100mph.

This system was designed specifically for ICVFX / LED Volume work. We prioritized stitch-ability, vertical resolution and stabilization. Live stitch, full camera control and iris available in the helicopter. Other configurations available.

We are so proud to have contributed to the making of Wakanda Forever. This special film means so much, to so many people.

Our teams worked 1st unit/ 2nd unit stunts & VFX in Boston, Atlanta, California and Puerto Rico.
We flew Heavy lift drone, Heavy FPV, and our groundbreaking Spheris Array and GHOSt 180 tilt head.

We have been rigorously testing the new Transmission System over the last month and have been blow away by its performance.

Overall the range is unshakable and for aerial applications this is the most crucial piece. Latency is outstanding to the 7” monitor and consistently 2 frames faster than other cinema Systems. When outputting from the SDI expander we are consistently getting 2 frames slower than competing systems which can be an issue with high speed precision shots but for typical drone work it is fine. The bitrate does vary which can effect the quality but this has not been an issue for our use case.

This system will rock the market and we are excited to see all the ways it will be used on set.

We have mainly been testing this system on custom gimbal projects so it has been hard to share photos but here are some shots from a feature we are working on in NC.

We have been in HEAVY R&D for the last 8 months and we have a lot of crazy stuff coming your way. For now here’s a sneak peek of one of our stabilized heads in development. Slow and smooth or 80mph + it does it all. Amazing work by our engineering team, heavy lift crews and our cinematic FPV team. Can’t wait to share more.
