In Loving Memory Of Samy Kamienowicz 🤍

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Samy, the beloved founder and owner of Samy’s Camera. In 1976, Samy opened his first Samy's Camera location, which would later grow into the most famous camera business west of the Mississippi River. Samy was more than just a businessman; he was a global photographer’s friend, mentor, and supporter. Photographers across the world are grieving the loss of Samy, a man whose influence on their profession was immense. Even though he achieved phenomenal success, Samy never lost his humility or willingness to serve others around him. Everyone lucky enough to have known him was lifted up by his good spirit, old-school manner, and gentle demeanor. Samy enjoyed flying large model airplanes, collecting rare cameras, and spending time with his wife and two beloved daughters Roui and Sara, and their children. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of all things camera. Many of his staff have remained for decades working with him.

Dear Samy, you have been an inspiration to many and a giant in the photographic industry; we are grateful to you.
