Life update, read if you want to.

Last semester was very challenging for a multitude of reasons. At one point I was working two jobs, working my internship , and was taking 15 credits. On top of all that I worked on 15 sets meaning I had one or two free weekends all semester. My weeks were extremely packed and I never had time to not do anything. I kept agreeing to more and more without thinking about how I was going to get everything done. I was so afraid of saying no to anything.

Getting through a season in life like this has shown me the true value of rest and how it is so important to not over commit. Before this last semester I was not confident in my creative abilities at all. I felt so out of place in my program. I didn’t feel like I had the skills to be a part of the program. I didn’t know if I was going to “make it.” This doubt was largely due to the fact that I had to move home because of COVID and spent 9 months not working towards my future.

This semester I was the point that I found a true passion for my craft. I found myself eager to create simply because I was given the opportunity to create something incredible. This was a big change from wanting to prove everyone at my high school wrong.

Reflecting on all the work I did I can’t help but be extremely thankful for all the people God has placed in my life. The encouragement, the words of wisdom and discernment, the opportunities, all validate the truth that I belong here. Thank you to everyone who has given me the opportunity to create something. Thank you to all the people who validated my feelings, and encouraged me to pray and lean on Gods strength.

This next semester will be different but not less jam packed. I will be working on my biggest build yet for with and . I will also be working as SFX makeup assistant for a feature film shooting in late November/early December!

Last Monday was easily the most memorable set I have been on this year. My car broke down while on a sand road going the wrong way (thanks Apple Maps), I wasn’t working with anyone I knew, it was extremely hot (a little over 100°), and it was two hours away from home. Despite the odds I worked the set, fixed my car, and made it home in one piece.

Huge shot out to for taking AMAZING BTS photos, and and for trusting me to take over last minute.
