What started as a Discord to review internships has turned into a lifeline for MSW students facing systemic f**kery.
Right now, I’ve got six (and counting) students desperate for internships, some need placement immediately, some by next semester. This is for ALL OF Los Angeles, The Valley, Inland Empire, and Orange County.
A few years ago, I was exactly where these students are fighting tooth and nail just to stay in my program. I was told I could not find my own placement, but the school didn’t have the bandwith to do it for me. Nobody showed up for me, so now I’m showing up for others who are in the same situation. I found a mentor that changed my life. She started an MOU and I was able to start my internship immediately.
My business has always been about community care, social justice, connection and combatting oppressive systems through trauma informed care. This is that work in real time.
If you’re an agency, a social work professional, or someone who can help create pathways for these students, and future students, I need you.
This is a call to action.
