We did a series of these where we played around with facial expressions. I work a lot with models on getting them used to variety of facial expressions. Some come in with softer eyes and we look for that intense pose.

The look for this portrait session was pieced together with random items I had laying around, chain, neck scarf, some gloves from Hanna and Alicia brought in the rest, worked out really nicely.

If you’re taking photos in direct sunlight you’ll need a reflector or a strong flash to match it/fill. Dont be intimidated by direct sunlight, instead use it to your advantage and bounce it.

You don’t need to have your model in direct sunlight, instead find some shade and you can bounce light off the walls.

I used a full flash for this shot. My exposure was f16. I personally enjoy contrast in my photos but I’m careful not to crush my blacks
