It was time for a day of rest! 😴 I decided to take a day off from trail and hangout in the town of Acton, CA. 🏜 .
I did some town chores like resupply on food for the next section and hit the post office to mail out some postcards and forward my bounce boxes full of extra gear & town clothes for when I can do laundry. 🧺.
The rest of the day was spent hanging out with other hikers at the , where I had one of the best dinners on trail. 🤤🥩🌱......

Yesterday, while I was taking a break at the , my 55-250mm lens was stolen from next to my pack a hundred feet above where I was. 😡 I've never had anything stolen in the backcountry in my seven years of trips. So this caught me off guard. 😔 .

After a night to myself at the hostel in Cedar Glen, it was time to start my multi-transit journey to for a root canal 🦷🔨😟.
I got a lift from the hostel owner into Lake Arrowhead, where I caught a bus down the mountain to the station. I made a couple of friends on the trip down, which helped pass the time. Then I was off to & . 🌴 .
I spent a couple nights with my buddy .0 & for to meet up with the crew for a bowling tournament 🎳 After one full day in LA it was time to head back to trail - I wanted to take as little time off as possible to keep myself in the same head space. 🧠 .
This journey, though, would take me to Wrightwood because there was a 20+ mile closure of trail because of the . 🔥🌳 After a to & a bus to Wrightwood, I was finally back near trail! 🤘.
I had a couple beers at to see what other hikers were around, then got in touch with a holistic spa & hostel owner about staying with them. 🏡 but of course, it was time for an early May & I was stuck in town for two nights - for a total of FOUR zero days in a row. 🫨 that was pretty rough to handle, but it reinforced how much I wanted to be out on trail. Even though the next stretch would be very snowy and interesting. ❄️🏔

Woke up nice & warm at our hostel room in . 😴 It was very chilly and windy all night so it was a blessing 🙌 Before heading back to trail, we all took a photo in front of the of the . 📸 .
The night before, I ran into my old '17 friend, .garner & his girlfriend, Crystal. I hadn't seen Jet since we were at the in the northern in July 2018. What an insane thought of how we happened to be in this same small stretch of this very long trail at the same time. 🤯.
We finally hit and it was all rolling hills, & puffy clouds. ☁️ .
I passed (a natural rock formation) & a 💯 miles!! 🥳 .
Soon we were on the small community of & hungout at the gas station before getting a lift to the community center to charge some stuff and relax until the heat calmed down. ☀️ .
After a bit of rest it was back to work! 👣 I saw a half dozen old airplanes land in a field over the course of a couple hours it seemed. 🛩 as the sun began to set, we were looking for camping but the spots we wanted were FULL of other hikers tents, so we kept going which kinda killed us physically but helped knock out a few more miles of our.
6pm looking for camping cause both spots we planned on were full of teens and first had comments about being private property plus we wanted to knock out some extra miles on this combs peak climb mega climb up the day to come. ⛰️ ......

The wild was howling all night long 🌬🤦‍♂️ I woke up having up fix the stakes in my tent a couple of times, which made for a slow start to the morning but luckily the first nine miles was down the same road I had to sneak off of the night before. 👣.
My day was spent in the while i worked my way to so i could meet up with my friend & take a couple days off in . 🥳😴🍔.
Beautiful scenery all around, given it was a ridgewalk you could look in any direction and have a view. 🏜 .
I saw a (AKA 🩸🐝). That was a pretty cool sight. 📸 .
There were trees and flowers throughout the walk. 🌳🌸🏵 Another interesting thing I saw were four wrecked cars in a very hard to get to spot. 🤔 They looked like they were from the 50s & were completely shot up. 🚘🔫 .
Once getting to the highway, I hungout in the only shade around - under a sign. I was pretty fu**in excited about taking a shower in just a couple hours. 🚿 ......
