Did you know that 90% of my work day revolves around writing emails or retouching images? The photographing itself is a teeny tiny part of life as a photographer. I just usually don't post it here because heck, who wants to see some boring pictures of me having lunch at my desk?? 😄

Whenever someone tells me "you're on vacation all the time" it's just because that is my favorite part of my life and I want to celebrate every little moment of it even though it's a small fraction of what I do (although I do get around more than most people).

It's always challenging to have to explain to clients why a shoot costs this much money when all they think is "But we only actually shot for 2 hours! So I should pay for only 2 hours!". As photographers not only do we have all that work after the shoot that is usually much longer than the shoot itself, but we also have to buy and replace equipment, pay our health insurance and whatever else comes up by ourselves. That's why it doesn't cost $20 an hour (or is for free, just because I happen to have a camera).

So grateful for all the beautiful job opportunities that the universe sent my way while in Mexico. When you plan nothing, you get everything.

On my last morning an older gentleman came up to me before I was about to leave. I had talked to him briefly one morning and he had been watching me photograph. He told me that my positive energy and vibrancy inspired him so much and that he just wanted to let me know. I was so flooded with love and thankful to him for taking the time to tell me.
