Last year I traveled the country with my project May We Rise, and I sat on public sidewalks, naaked, to demonstrate that nuudity is a state of being, and the bodies are a work of art. It was a combination of myself trying to prove something, and change the state of the world, and, a deeply growing experience, to be so freely seen in that way.
This year, having walked through many a personal fires over my time in Billings, and now being nomadic for almost 3 months straight — rarely sleeping in one place more than two nights in a row — I am being pushed to change myself, so that I may more naakedly be of service to the world.
I have a potential shoot in the chute, and what is fascinating to me is that I can begin to feel it taking shape, even before it’s taken shape. I can feel a reciprocity there that feels like it’s a “different rule” than before, when I lived in the mindset of “photographer” and “subject”, and more willingness on my side was the only consideration. True collaboration, is at hand, and that feels beautiful, and respectful, and reverent.
I’m turning 40 tomorrow and I’m just so excited, even though things still feel so messy as I make this transition, and there is a level of grace that wasn’t there before, and a sense of innocence that is growing, slowly, still-ly, but surely (and shore-ly for my double water moon sun signs ☺️).
I want to thank you for being a part of my journey, if you’ve been here a while, and I want to thank you for joining if you’re new, or going to be new, here 🌠.
With love,
Jenifer 🌹
