-This was taken during a camera test and sent out to press as a first look. As a photographer, it's always amusing to see where my photos get used. The teenage AIM using Phil would've been excited to see we made it on AOL. Haha!

(repost captions) This event honored “...the visionary leaders and companies shaping the future of the US & Japan entertainment industry.

A special thank you to Tom Miyauchi (Nippon TV), Shunsuke Taki (TBS International), & Matthew Ireton (Yoshimoto Entertainment USA., Inc.) for an insightful presentation on bridging entertainment between Japan and the US.

Also, we heard from Yosuke Kodaka of Aniplex of America in a conversation moderated by Jacki Jing on the global rise of Japanese anime. It was an incredible discussion that highlighted just how dominant anime has become on the world stage.

JX and the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles were also proud to present the 2026 Impact Awards to Aniplex of America and the Little Tokyo Community Impact Fund.

Lady Liberty

On the plaque there is a famous poem by Emma Lazarus:

"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

I hope that one day our nation will have this type of inviting reputation again...

Lucky Lu at Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival

1. Finally getting to watch the film! We didn't get photos with everyone, but it was so good to see you all at the festival.
2. Quick photo with my love VERA chow. (📷Thanks Sthanlee! Sthanlee B. Mirador)
3. Some of the Lucky Lu team in attendance.
4. Couple of photos I shot while walking around locations during filming.
