WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN AN EFFECTIVE LOGO🧐
1. Is it scalable? A detailed logo may look gorgeous up close, but will it read the same way when you need to make it small? Your logo should have enough details to stand out but also needs to retain it's clarity if scaled very small.
2. Does it reflect your brand's message? I know what you're thinking, how can I fully express my brand's story with just a few lines and shapes? Luckily, not every piece of the story needs to fit. Your logo’s job is to set the scene, set the vibe -the aesthetic, if you will. At the start, choosing a font that communicates the feeling of your brand is a great first step, the rest of your brand’s job is to fill in the gaps.
3. Have you strategized your logo? I recommend a cohesive plan that explains how your logo will assist to effectively establish your brand. For example, A logo is just one piece of the puzzle and it must work cohesively with the rest of the brand's identity in order to fit the big picture. It's important to take into account how the logo will work with your brand's main colors, typefaces, images, and all the other elements that make up your entire brand.
More often than not, an effective logo takes research to develop meaningful connections between your logo and your brand. Putting in the time to research your brand's story is part of your strategy and can work to save you money for your business. Instead of having to deal with the expenses of redoing a logo often, opt for strategizing a meaningful logo that you'll love!
If you're an entrepreneur on a budget (or maybe you just don't have the headspace for all of this, that's okay!) purchasing pre-made logos can be just as good in the beginning when you're looking to get out there and grow a consistent market before taking the next step to invest in a custom logo. Don't confuse the word "pre-made" for generic either, here's some designers selling unique and versatile pre-made logos on Etsy:
