Working from home is no joke. I salute anyone who works remotely and has children to feed, teach while out of school, entertain with activities, clean up after and give baths to. It has not been easy photographing families daily with varied weather conditions and different situations and moods.

Again, I want to continue thanking everyone who has reached out to participate in my project and shared their photos as well. I am doing this as long as I can and am continuing to plan these 20 minute sessions.

This is what 43 years of love looks like! Stuck inside for weeks and from the looks of it, enjoying the slow down.

Maritza jumped at the chance to be captured with her husband Paul even if it was pouring rain.

This was such a different experience for me as well as a photographer. Not much experience shooting in a ton of rain and juggling my camera with one hand and my umbrella in the other. I think they turned out pretty good for pure overcast.

Attention Parents,

I have a fun little project in mind and I need your help. If you’d like to participate, please post or message me with the questions or comments your kids are making during this time. Things they are commenting on and what you’ve been telling them to understand this chaotic and sad time in our lives.

As for us, we are trying to stay positive at home. We know there are many people that have it way worse than we do. So we are focusing on the the silver lining. We are not on the streets, homeless or starving. We aren’t doctors and nurses who have to expose themselves daily for the greater good and can’t even touch their significant others and children.
We are staying home with our family and try and bond. My husband and I are focusing on potty training Gwen, working at home on our art and business and focusing on my 83 year old grandmother with asthma and advanced dementia. I live in a house with 6 other people and while we give my grandmother a lot of care and attention regularly it’s been 110% for a few weeks now and it’s because of our stay home orders that we are able to do this. If nothing else it’s a blessing in a terrible disguise. Hopefully after this all passes, neighbors will continue to say “good morning” simple because we are alive, well and able to do so. Kids will continue to draw rainbows, smiley faces and positive phrases in chalk on the sidewalks and driveways just to brighten up someone’s day. Families continue to take bikes rides and walks around the block. Our visits and FaceTime conversations with friends and family are more often. Hopefully, overall our appreciation and care for life and the beauty of our planet is taken a bit more seriously.
I could go on and on because let’s face it, right now we are flip flopping between staying positive and dealing with the opposite. I’d love to hear all your words of motivation, positivity an interesting outlooks on life while we pass through this difficult moment in history.

With all the scare about going out to public places and running out of toilet paper... I thought I should make it clear I shoot from my home in Burbank and keep everything very clean before and after a session. All props and outfits or accessories get cleaned once a Cake smash is done, newborn session is done or any other type of session. My in-home studio is not a public place where people come watch or can just come by during a session. Please feel comfortable and at home during your session as I am a mom too and have all the same concerns. Washing hands and using hand sanitizer is a very constant routine through the day. We can’t all fall apart during these times and we need to support each other as mamas and small business people. Having said that, I am so excited for my sessions this coming month and look forward to meeting and seeing everyone again!
