Also, time and again, how does the sunlight or the sky do that?? Draw a straight line across the skies… litte did i know, i was in for a familiar pattern of Sunset, although at a higher altitude, 13k~.

In the same winter, a month or so after the trip from pregious 2 posts, I thought, ‘Oh, let’s go to UT. May be the Canyonlands this time, stop by arches on the way back i thought’.
But here’s what actually happened, Went to the Arches first, did Sunrise hike to the Double O, and a couple more after that, sunset at the big window, landscape arch, balanced rock, well you know… then the next Morning i made it to Canyon lands, WoW!! Sunrise at the Mesa arch, just Wow!! The Needles district, green river’s carvings, these Deer i spotted grazing, full blown. So, by this trip, having completed the Big 5, 3 more than twice, 2 more than 5 times(Capitol reef, Bryce), my favorites in order are:
1. Capitol Reef
2. Zion
3. Bryce
4. Canyonlands
5. Arches
Can you believe i have many core memories from the Big5, over the years?? Well, do so because Fireworks, a Deer, a Ditch in Bryce 2020,Angels landing over and over again in 20,21,22, Night skies by a spot i won’t mention in Arches 22, the big palm print in Canyonlands 21, Devils garden in Arches…. What a ride it’s been!! 🤌🏼🤌🏼

I really hope you can enjoy these. Me, personally, not everyday do i get to spot my most favorite bird, and have his highness stay undisturbed, preen, and take a small trip around the skies, come back to the same branch.
I couldn’t believe what was going on, i didn’t wanna ask for more. But i did, grabbed my 1.4X went to 900mm and stayed in wait. And surely, he has come back. And that’s how i was able to get some good closeups.
Now, normally i don’t forget much, but this morning, i replayed it over and over again, a ton. On a side note: Up close, they’re SCARY!

A Trip to the Tetons.
One that i’ll remember. It was a good Winter, ‘21. I spotted Moose, Eagles, Migratory birds, Bighorn Sheep, Snow covered Mountains in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, some amazing sunsets, Glaciers, Montana❤️❤️❤️, and many more.
Seen in the Post are the Tetons, a Moose and the sunset was from my way down south.

I imagine a Person, possibly a Photog standing on top of one of these cliffs, showing the sheer strength and resilience of the Mountains and one of earth’s best resources’ resolve in shaping those Mountains. But, it’s like that one dream I don’t want anything to do with!
Home to one of fastest birds in the World, Carved by the once feared Gunnison, Parts of it only receiving an hour of Sun light,
And with one of the Largest Walls painted Naturally, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park still sits in one of my favorite spots.
I remember a little after Sunset, i called my folks and showed them the view there. Her: Why you always on the Edge?
Him: Woahhh! Look at that View.

Shot at 900mm, from Texas. Went out to see the Moon rise and spot any bird activity but ended up spotting just one Mississippi Kite. However, the wait was well worth as soon as i saw this photo on a big screen.
Which reminds me, Winter is Coming, so i can go birding again. 🦥

A Cardinal’s Contrast.
A Series for what was once my arch nemesis, always eluding me and landing my feeble attempts at that One-Shot in vain. Little did i know, one day it would come and land on the perch closest to me. 🌝
And these here photos, were from my 2nd best sighting of the Northern Cardinal. The first Photo is my favorite composition, shows the Reds and Greens just as i hoped it would.
Actually thrilled to share these 3 different compositions, because i’ve always been a sucker for polar oppsosites, 0&1, B&W, etc. And on this rainy morning in the state side of North east NY, i saw the opportunity, it was Red & Green this time and more importantly, he STAYED!!! i took my photos, a small video, thanked the bird and left.
What a Joy!! there is in Nature & Wildlife Photography.

How come you ain’t flying? the Lonely Shepherd asked a bird flock, preening and resting.
The ‘Mountain BlueBird’ flock from Colorado replied, because then like you, the Perch and the Tree will be Lonely and soon after, becomes a ‘Rock’.
The confused Lonely Shepherd walked away, in search for one such Flock.

A Hot Brew. 🌧️ UT 🖤
Another thing a Nature lover of the West would find cool is that, in the right bottom corner is La Sal Mountains from the Manti La Sal National Forest, where we camped the next day. Story for another day.🦭
As we were at the end of Hells Revenge Trail, the sun went down, almost as if we planned for a Sunset there! An hour before that, I managed to capture this Brew. A Storm Brewing onto MOAB, mid July, hot af!

PS: It was either this or my favorite Osprey photo. Guess the Osprey will have to wait 🦅

I very much like the Light’s play here. 📷 Captured this Humming bird on a chilly winter morning in in what’s one of the most visited meadows in CA. 🐦
Re-edited this so i like it more and so it would make a better point, if that! I waited for him to show his face in ‘Catchlight’ and sure enough, it happens during a break in his preening session. Hence the feathers in his beak. Click!!!
I’m curious how different photos make different people feel. With certain obvious exceptions, i think it’s a good way to learn about ourselves. I intend on doing some homework about it too! 🦥

I love Big Horn Sheep.❤️
Did you know that there is a ‘Pandemic’ happening amongst wild sheep?? The infectious bacteria is known as Mycoplasma Ovipneumoniae (movi), which is a deadly bacteria that has been passed from DOMESTIC sheep to wild sheep. Wanna know more? Lmk! 🐐
We can’t leave a Trace. No.
Do you see that, That little Tongue Swipe adds sillyness to an otherwise fierce looking animal with them soul piercing Horns??
Just don’t disturb them or their lives when you spot them, you inconsiderate ‘Animals with communication’!!.
Let’s keep sharing a Safe habitat for everyone!!

So the next time you write on a corn cob with your pen, think about what you’re doing. Too midwest? No? Ok.

Only read about swans until i headed up North. As i’d like to say, . You see it?
As much as i regurgitate my memories like a certain animal does with it’s food, it’s ever so easy to just jog on to the next stop without taking a much needed break to dwell in the richness of My Memories. It’s an Ongoing work, In Progress.
Truth be told, i’m very careful of what I remember. For example, i remember thinking, ‘Wish it wasn’t this harsh, the light.. but hey! Atleast it’s 30F so that’s good right?!’

Such an eventful Pitstop. I did shoot for a mini timelapse there, Had it all to myself, so Calm. Normally, i am not one to be a tourist for Dams or Reservoirs but this day was an exception. The Structures that baffled me on the same level were Golden gate bridge, Hoover Dam…

Try to put yourself in his shoes and see how keenly he is looking at whatever he has his eyes on! And that’s what i want you to see, NOT his Radiant Yellow, Light Yellow, Brownish Yellow colors, the Powerful beak, the little grays in his feathers.. NO! None of these!! 🙊
Allthough not exactly but Watching these little yet large lives through my Camera enables me to Resonate with a life form who was such an accute Observer for a moment as i pressed on the shutter. What a Fantastic life, i must note.
As much as i like growing to love behavioral and environmental photographs, it’s potraits like these tingle that inner portrait lover in me.
Now, i see why they said ‘It’s the Little Things’.

Every Spotted Towhee’s picture i captured, only happened because the Towhee lands next to me, when i’m working with a different species, in this case, an American Robin in a park in Seattle area, WA.
Spring ‘22. Chilly 26-30°F mornings in Washington. As hard as gearing up in cold gear everyday was, i miss IT and the Alpenglow over Mt Rainier or up in the Cascades…

No, not stargazing, i meant ‘Social Media’. Uh-Oh! This sounds like an Unnecessary Truth that should just shush you & never let your thoughts be Individual or Critical. Wait, Read it again.
Why should your Thinking be Critical & Thoughts be Independent? What of it?? The sheep seems to get along in life just fine..eh???

The Winter Wanderer. 🦌
It was one of my dreams to capture Animals & Birds in Snow ❄️.For the last two Winters, i’ve made plans and set out for a Photo. One Photo. Yes!
Take these deer photos for example. On a trip that concluded at around 4300mi, I spotted these somewhere around 1400mi into the trip, in SD. 5 min later, i carried on, Thanking the Deer.🙏🏼
Fortunately for me, my Plan & Perseverance enabled me to secure that ONE photo. While neither of these two photos succeeded to make the top spot, be sure that, THAT photo will make it here too.

Evening Grosbeak, shot on an afternoon, in shade, in CO. 🐦
I’ll be in CO, on the east side of these mountains this time, in the next 24hrs. Hopefully, i’ll spot a bird or an Animal.🦭
Sitting here close to the mid point’s longitude and about to get closer to it, i can’t help but wonder about the marine life going on about their day in the Socal Pacific waters..
