It’s weird to think that some people have never visited the sea, the ocean, or places like the Great Lakes. Landlocked without access to the waves, never hearing them crash, never feeling the current pull the sand from under their feet. And never experiencing epic sunsets, some of them so dramatic that you cannot even believe it’s real. We are very blessed to have one of the greatest places on the planet right in our backyard. - Photo from last night behind Skateworld.

Rainy scenes from Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula. There’s something about this place that keeps drawing me back. A calmness that really knows how to speak to my soul. I could go on endlessly about the tranquility and relaxing pace of the entire area. Charlie’s first visit to our neighbors to the North and she’s already looking forward to going back. Sorry it’s been so long between posts.

FireFish Festival ❤️. What can I say, except that I am grateful to share such a cool & creative platform with so many other like-minded artists and weirdos. It’s my favorite night of the year in downtown Lorain!! This year we skipped the gallery show & focused on running our new coffee shop. But we did have a little art installation in the alley of our building that I’d like to thank my FireFish peeps for commissioning me to create! Big ups to everyone in FireFish who worked so hard for months planning and executing this evening, especially Joan & Candace. Hats off to all of the volunteers, vendors, city workers & businesses who took part, and all of the members of the community that came out to enjoy the festival. Thanks to Cory Shawver & Jet Signs for printing & delivering these beautiful 4’x4’ aluminum panels for us. Mike Sekletar & Everett Querry for helping me hang them, and the lovely Lisa Friend for letting me photograph you and plaster your face on the side of my building. Lol. What a great night! Cannot wait to participate again next year! ❤️❤️❤️

Most of you already know… but I’m opening a little coffee shop on Broadway. And it opens for business next Tuesday. Menu suggestion: Oat Milk Cortado.

Oh Hey, Lorain! Magdalen’s is officially opening for business Tuesday, May 23rd!!

We’re going to start with a small-ish menu at first, but once we get our sea legs we’ll release the full onslaught onto your tastebuds.

I’m really, really excited to be opening and cannot wait to share my coffee obsession with everyone. We are expecting the first week to be pretty busy, and each drink is carefully and expertly crafted, so please be courteous and patient until we find our groove.

Straight out of a classic romance film… Shana & Michael’s wedding photography is simply beautiful. Shot at two of my favorite local places - Speak of the Devil Cocktail Bar, Lorain, & Thi Ni Thai, Oberlin. These cuties are one of my very last wedding couples, and couldn’t be happier how these turned out!
