M + D had a small, intimate celebration with their family, on a car-free island on a lake in northern Switzerland🇨🇭 It was a very hot day in the middle of august as we took a boat ride to the island, stopping along at little lakeside towns. Nestled in grapevines and corn fields, the charming, historic hotel used to be a monastery, dating as far back as the 12th century! It was just us, farm animals, and a thunderstorm to end the night. I feel so honored to have been there to document such a special day ✨

Cliffside Elopement along the coast of Maui 🤍

An intimate wedding above the sea on the rocky coastline of San Juan Island. Exploring the historical lighthouse as the smokey sun turned the sky and ocean to pink, squeals of excitement as we spotted porpoises swimming the straight, and their first dance as husband and wife to Thinking out Loud on the rocks below the lighthouse.
It was the perfect day and it was honor to capture it❣️

I’m not sure when I’ll ever recover from this sunset elopement on San Juan Island 🥹

This golden hour seemed to go on endlessly, and I could not stop shooting! It’s days like these that remind me why I love this job and these beautiful islands. So grateful for summertime, the ocean and mountains, and for beautiful people hiring me to capture their special day 💛

Mid-June surprise proposal 🕊being able to witness such special moments in people’s lives will never get old, and the love that Jordan and Nina have for each other was so sweet and infectious.

There were so many elements to this surprise proposal that were so thoughtful and unique! While Jordan was planning the proposal he made little cassette tapes that he sent to all of Nina’s closest friends. These cassette tapes had QR codes to a Spotify playlist he made, a playlist with songs he chose carefully to read out a message to her friends asking for their blessing on the proposal 😭 so creative and I lovvveee this idea of asking for friends blessings 👏

He also found the ring box on Etsy that he had personally engraved with the proposal date, their initials, and mountains. He liked this box because it wasn’t the shape of a normal ring box making it look like his wallet in his back pocket. Such a good idea!!

Jordan worked so hard on this proposal and planned out a whole day of fun activities and surprises for her before and after the proposal. He chose Mt. Young because of their shared love of hiking, and I have to say it was the perfect spot for it, and we happened to be the only people up there too!

If you are a bride-to-be I highly suggest having your photographer help you create a flat lay for you (example on slides 6+7). Including things such as your invitations, vows, bouquet/boutonnière, rings, perfume, jewelry, etc.; the list can just go on! Any details that are special to you, to have captured together to always remember the little things from your big day ✨
