🌍 WHERE ARE WE WEDNESDAY?
📍 WARSAW, POLAND 🇵🇱
Welcome to a new social media series from Second Star Solutions! Every Wednesday (as long as we remember), we'll revisit a city somewhere around the world where our cameras have taken us, sharing a little history, a few memories, and the stories behind the productions that brought us there.
Our first stop? WARSAW, POLAND!
In the summer of 2026, Warsaw served as our gateway to Ukraine during an international production for TBN's Stakelbeck Tonight.
Working alongside host Erick Stakelbeck, we spent time filming throughout the Polish capital, recording segments exploring Poland's remarkable history of resistance during World War II and its important role in European security today, particularly as neighboring Ukraine continues its fight against Russia's invasion.
And what a fascinating city to explore!
Warsaw has an extraordinary story of survival. During World War II, N**i Germany devastated the city, destroying more than 85% of its historic center. Following the war, the Polish people undertook an incredible reconstruction effort, rebuilding much of their beloved Old Town from historical paintings, photographs, and architectural records.
Today, that beautifully restored historic district is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🏙️ THE VIEW FROM MY WINDOW
The magnificent building pictured here is Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science, completed in 1955 as a Soviet-era gift to Poland.
Love it or hate it, the building is an unmistakable part of Warsaw's skyline and a fascinating reminder of the country's complicated history under Soviet influence.
And here's my favorite part about this photograph: It wasn't taken from a tourist attraction, observation deck, or drone.
This was literally the view from my hotel room!
Not a bad sight to wake up to.
This was my first visit to Poland, and Warsaw made a wonderful first impression. Beautiful architecture, a vibrant city atmosphere, and some fantastic summer weather made filming around the city a real pleasure.
What struck me most, though, was the contrast between Warsaw's difficult history and the energy of the modern city. It's a place that has endured extraordinary hardship, rebuilt itself, and continues to play an important role in shaping Europe's future.
For Second Star Solutions, one of the greatest privileges of international production is getting to experience places like this firsthand while helping tell stories that matter.
Warsaw, thanks for the memories! 🇵🇱
