Photographing My College Roommate’s Wedding: Julie + Michael Wedding Day ❤️

Capturing love stories will always make me emotional, but getting to capture the wedding day of someone who was such a huge part of my college years made this day even more meaningful. Julie was one of my best friends in college and someone I shared some of my favorite memories with, so documenting this season of her life felt incredibly special. It’s truly a core memory I’ll cherish forever. 🙏

I hadn’t seen her in years, but the moment we saw each other again, it felt like no time had passed at all. Suddenly I felt like that wild and carefree college girl again. We used to spend so many nights out dancing together, and honestly, she taught me so many of my dance moves back then. At the end of the wedding night, we danced together again and all of those memories came flooding back. 🥹

What made it even more special is that I also met Michael in college, so I got to witness their love story from the very beginning and watch it grow into what it is today. When Julie reached out and told me I was the first vendor she booked, I felt so honored and grateful. 🥲

Seeing a good friend get married is already emotional, but getting to photograph the love between her and her person felt almost heartbursting. There truly aren’t enough words for it.

The entire day was filled with laughter and so much joy. From a fake first look with one of the groomsmen dressed up in a wedding gown, to a mariachi band bringing the energy all night long, to vows spoken in both English and Spanish, every part of the day reflected who they are and the beautiful blending of their families and cultures. It was such a love filled celebration with the perfect amount of tequila involved. 😜

Truly such a beautiful wedding day. Thank you so much Julie and Michael for trusting me to capture your happily ever after. 🥰
