It is with great pleasure to pass the baton on to my sweet and talented friend, Emily McCarty -- so please reach out to her for any of your photography needs! She was my second shooter for the Wedfest Wedding and is VERY capable!

Life happens, you find what brings joy and what robs you of it and you make calls when you need to make calls for yourself, your family, so many factors. I appreciate each of your support and hope you'll support Emily in the same fashion.

If you weren’t at The Forge Bar and Grill last night listening to this crew, then sadly you missed out. I’m just being honest.

Leading the night, Andrew Shafer stunned with a smooth voice, impressive range and a soul that is well beyond his years. But we can’t leave out the great company he had in his midst. Marcia Keys accompanied on percussion which we all know she is freakin’ legit but don’t forget her melodic harmonies either. And we won’t go so far to say Greyson Ferris stole the show, but his talents are obvious and exciting to watch nonetheless.

And of course, Ross at the Forge was nothing but the most gracious host and his staff attentive and helpful. If you haven’t been, be sure to check them out! And follow the artists on their social platforms to see what they’re up to and where they’re headed next!

Foster's Fest + The Song Swap

If you are a foodie, beer lover (and other drinks) and local music supporter then this is my personal challenge to YOU to go meet Art the owner and man behind ALL the things at Foster's Place in Pickton, TX.

This easy to spot gem on HWY 11 hosts trivia nights, live music, and will always have the latest game playing on the TV nearby. You'll find daily food specials, crafted in house by Art and his team. His wait staff makes you feel like you came to your home or to visit family and the talent he brings through the doors speaks for itself.

The Song Swap, a somewhat quarterly if not more frequently when schedules allow, encompasses (usually 5 - mhhhmmm, Chase Glover) a group of East Texas Singer-Songwriters that have been friends and have been doing this song swap at Foster's for I believe upwards of five years. (They'll check my facts.😉)

This week had the four of the five that normally participate -- Owen Tiner, Chris Rasco, Meredith Crawford & Kevin Tinney and to watch them play each others songs, encourage each other to test out newly written material, is inspiring and a priviledge to witness.

This song swap was also the weekend of Art's annual Foster's Fest, held this time every year with a weekend jam packed with live music. (Goal: Next year photograph it all!)

These people are near and dear to my heart, this place represents safety and home and community and the music replenishes your soul.

TYE + GARRETT | SNEAKS | 06.29.24

Have you ever met that person in the most unexpected way? You watch from afar through this social media world. You see what life is doing to the other, the good, the bad, the ugly and come to a mutual admiration for one another and the journey life has taken you both on? Yep, that would be Tye.

Little did we know that her teaching my daughter at MDO would lead to the roads we've traveled in a somewhat parallel fashion but also would lead to me having the priviledge of capturing her intimate ceremony with her now husband, Garrett.

It is moments like this that I truly count myself so blessed to be in this role.

These are just the sneak peeks of such a beautiful day. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Gibson!

RASCO WEDFEST | THE NEWLYWED EDIT

And we thought the ceremony was the sweet part that had us all melt -- nope. Watching Meredith + Chris embrace their new title as husband and wife with a natural instinct was a sight to behold.

RASCO WEDFEST | THE FORMAL EDIT

As a photographer, this is by far the part that brings about the most anxiety because naturally, family wants to have the frozen moment themselves. And I was nervous, but I LOVE the candid nature of Meredith + Chris and their family and close friends. These turned out wonderful.

Hopefully there is a mantle worthy photo somewhere in the bunch. Haha!
