There’s a version of motherhood we imagine will feel calm, slow, and fully present. And then there’s the reality.
The noise, the constant movement and the feeling of being needed in a hundred directions at once.
But even inside that…there are moments. Small ones, quiet ones and in-between spaces where something soft still exists.
Think about a hand reaching for you without thinking…a body leaning into yours. It was a pause you didn’t plan, but felt.
That’s what I pay attention to.
Not the perfection of it… but the presence within it.

We all experience motherhood in our own way - our own values, methods, rhythms, expectations…
But what we all share is the quiet, powerful joy of connection with our children. Am I right?
That’s why I prioritize presence in every session.
Because when we slow down, when we let go of expectation, that’s where the truth lives. That’s where you are, just as you are. And your child, just as they are.
Motherhood can feel like it’s taken pieces of you…
the version of you that felt more free, more light, less stretched, less tired. But those parts of you aren’t gone.
They’re still there, they are woven into the way you love, the way you hold, the way you show up.

Hello Mamas! I say it over and over again but it really I truly believe that the something to be said for slowing down and accepting where you are in that exact moment. Our lives are a constant flow from one thing to the next, managing events, work, family, feelings, and the list goes on…when do you stop and breathe?

Model Call - Refresh + Evolve Retreat

I’m seeking a maternity model (or family) for an intimate, emotionally driven photoshoot during the Refresh + Evolve Retreat in Winter Park, CO on August 1–2.

This experience is rooted in connection, presence, and the quiet power of motherhood. I’m looking for someone who feels grounded, open-hearted, and comfortable moving slowly through nature. Think earthy, soulful, natural - someone who values feeling over posing.

Who this could be for:

A solo expectant mother

A mother with a partner

A mother with young children (with or without a partner)

Partners (if included) should feel similarly aligned: calm, open, and comfortable being part of a shared, creative space.

Details:

Maternity stage: 28–34 weeks at time of shoot

Comfortable with light hiking to a nearby outdoor location (nothing intense)

Comfortable being photographed by a group of 10 women photographers in a respectful, supportive environment

Sometimes I wish mothers knew that being seen in this season doesn’t require everything to look a certain way.

Being truly seen doesn’t live in the polished, forward-facing details.
It lives in the moments that pass in the blink of an eye.

It lives in the small things, the messy things, and the ones that don’t translate neatly online.

We’re surrounded by so much consumption - images, opinions, expectations - it becomes so easy to overlook what’s actually unfolding right in front of us. We miss it.

But that’s where the REAL lives.
It lives in what’s imperfect, in what’s fleeting and in what doesn’t ask to be curated.

That’s the part I’m always watching for.
And the part I believe is worth remembering.
