I am devastated. I just learned my friend Mario Cavazos Vela passed away. He generously and brilliantly participated in my project "Immigrant Song" and wrote this thoughtful text.
I remember celebrating his birthdays with friends from Soho Photo Gallery spending our Sunday at his place in Rockaway Beach, NY. Such a sweet man. Adios Mario. Have a wonderful trip full of music and beautiful images.

Je suis effondré. Je viens d'apprendre la disparition de mon ami Mario Cavazos Vela. Il avait participé d'une façon particulièrement remarquable à mon travail intitulé "Immigrant Song", notamment en écrivant ce texte magifique.
Je me souviens de ses anniversaires qu'on allait célébrer avec des amis de Soho Photo Gallery chez lui à Rockaway Beach. Mario était vraiment quelqu'un d'adorable. Adieu Mario. Bon voyage plein de musique et de belles images.

I’m thrilled to share that I’m officially part of the ! Thanks to ,, , & for this amazing grant, and for hosting this event. I’m looking forward to sharing my work with you! This Sunday, October 10th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, I will demonstrate the alternative photography printing process I use at the Plaxall Gallery by Culture Lab LIC, 5-25 46 th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101. You will see how to transfer an image to watercolor paper. Thank you all for your support. Hope to see you there!
