Jambalaya
Where histories meet, and harmony is made.
Created last year, Jambalaya is a visual meditation on the shared stories, resilience, and creative exchange between Black and Asian cultures within the American experience. Rooted in a history shaped by struggle, survival, and mutual influence, this project seeks to honor the quiet bonds that exist beyond the surface.
Much like the dish it’s named after, Jambalaya is a layered composition — distinct elements coming together without losing their essence. Each image reflects adaptability, collaboration, and the beauty that emerges when cultures intertwine with intention and respect.
This work is a reminder that unity does not erase difference; it strengthens it. Jambalaya stands as a symbol of cultural harmony, where diversity is not only present but celebrated, and where shared humanity creates space for connection, growth, and a more inclusive future.
Endless gratitude to the creatives who helped bring this vision to life:
