First, I'm still taking 'people' photo clients!

Second, about a year ago I accidentally started a business.

My friend Nasem opened Treehouse Pediatric Dentistry (a great practice if you need someone wonderful in South OC, btw) and asked me to create content (photos, graphics, captions, blog posts) for her social media.

I thought, 'why don't I offer this same set of content to dentists outside of the Treehouse market area, personalize it for each practice, and only take on one client per geographic area so that there's no chance of potential patients seeing the same content from more than one dentist!?'

AND SO I DID!

And Minty Content was born. It's a cute little one year old baby now, and I'm going to grow it into a big, strong business. If you have a dentist or orthodontist who you think would benefit from having a collection of content every month to use with the content they create themselves in their office, I'd LOVE for you to introduce us. I have 9 clients, and am hungry for more. In addition to the personalized content, I provide guidance, training, and best practices to help build their community online and off.

I’ve been doing a lot of work with small business owners lately. 🏫 It has been SO FUN seeing them in their element doing what they love. ❤️

📷 Our sessions result in great headshots and I also get to use my former Marketing Director brain to come up with photo narratives to use as social media content. 💻

I have a super secret pregnancy announcement/gender reveal session this evening. I’m the only one who knows the gender! The envelope has been opened. The colored smoke bombs to announce boy or girl have been delivered. Outfits have been coordinated. What do you think it’s going to be?

I am so happy to be back in Arizona for a MONTH! I did, however, cry before I left. This is a long time to be away from those nieces, but luckily I have some substitute babies to snuggle while I’m out here. Do you have a place that is a second home to you?

#2- The most important point I hope to make during my chat is that there's only one way to better photos; and that is taking really really bad photos. I know (boy do I know) that being self-critical can hold people back from doing the damn thing. But for any creative endeavor, the only way to good is by being kind of bad. For a long time. In that spirit, I thought I'd share some of my early instagrams. Hall of Shame style! But not really, because I'm proud of the progress I've made in my photography passion, both on my phone and with my 'real' camera. Enjoy.
