I had the honor of photographing this adorable big sister as a newborn, and now she’s back at the studio welcoming her brand new baby sister with the sweetest little kiss. Wide awake babies during a newborn session are completely normal and nothing to worry about 🤍

Some babies love to check out their new surroundings before drifting off to sleep, and honestly, those bright little eyes can make for some of the sweetest portraits. Newborn sessions are always baby-led, which means we work patiently around feeding, cuddles, soothing, and plenty of comfort breaks.

Whether your little one sleeps the entire session or stays curious and alert, we will still capture beautiful memories you’ll treasure forever ✨

Parents often stress before their session if baby is awake, fussy, or “not cooperating,” but trust me… I’ve photographed so many little personalities over the years, and every session turns out uniquely beautiful in its own way.

There is no such thing as “too late” for newborn photos 🤍

While those sleepy curled-up poses are easiest in the first couple of weeks, older newborns are still absolutely beautiful to photograph. Tiny smiles, bright eyes, sweet stretches, and all of those growing baby features deserve to be remembered too. Every stage is special, and I love creating timeless portraits for babies of all ages.
