Planning your wedding details? Don’t forget the little things you’ll want photographed.
One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is styling the detail flatlay, but the prettiest flatlays usually happen when you give me a little more to work with.
When gathering your details, consider including:
✨ Your invitation suite + envelopes
đź’Ť Both wedding rings
đź’Ž Engagement ring
🌿 A few extra florals or greenery from your florist
đź‘ Shoes
đź’Ś Vow books, letters, or meaningful paper goods
🎀 Ribbon or a beautiful ring box
🕊️ Heirlooms or sentimental details
✨ Any small pieces that have meaning to you: family jewelry, a special perfume, a keepsake, etc.
And one of my favorite tips: ask your stationer for a few extra pieces of your invitation suite. A second envelope, loose invitation, RSVP card, envelope liner, or even a few pieces of the paper can add so much dimension to your flatlay.
You don't need to buy a bunch of extra details just for photos. The goal is to gather the pieces that already tell the story of your day and let me turn them into something beautiful.
Pro tip: Have all of your details together in one box or bag when I arrive. It saves time, keeps everything organized, and lets me start photographing while you're getting ready. There's more information in my wedding guide for you on this!
The little things matter. They're part of your story, too.
