A little rain couldn't keep the faithful away from this Olcott Beach, NY in Niagara County institution. Both the white popcorn and caramel popcorn were delicious. Best of luck to the new owners and operators of Bye's Popcorn. They told me that the making of the caramel corn is labor intensive. They spent the week making hundreds of bags for their opening weekend. They have lemonade slushies too!

"One more Saturday night!"

Well, that was a blast. Last night Grateful Dead cover band Bertha (the title of a Grateful Dead song) played Asbury Hall at Babeville.

I have seen a lot of Grateful Dead cover bands over the years. Some might even argue that Dead & Company is a Grateful Dead cover band, but this was by far one of the best.

The Dead Head crowd loved every second of the show from opening Help On the Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower all the way to the encore of Good Lovin'.

Everything was incredible from the vocals, harmonies, musicianship, stage presence and vibe. As far as I could tell the only difference between Bertha and the real Grateful Dead was that they only had one drummer.

Oh, wait... They were in drag too. I can't believe that I overlooked that little detail. They were still incredible and I would see this band a hundreds time.
