🎺🥁 **100 BAND MEMBERS. ONE INCREDIBLE SOUND. ONE PROUD COMMUNITY!** 🔴⚫⚪
The **Lockney Longhorn Band** continues to make some serious noise this marching season, and Saturday's performance at the **Westerner Festival in Lubbock** proved just that!
🏆 **WESTERNER FESTIVAL RESULTS**
🎶 **Class 2A**
🥇 Ropes – 1st Place
🥈 **Lockney – 2nd Place**
🥉 Sundown – 3rd Place
🥁 **Percussion**
🥇 **LOCKNEY – 1st PLACE!**
🥈 Sundown – 2nd Place
🥉 Post – 3rd Place
🏆 **OVERALL – ALL CLASSIFICATIONS**
Three bands tied for 1st with 2,490 points: Ropes, Abilene High, and Plainview.
🔥 **LOCKNEY FINISHED 4TH OVERALL WITH 2,480 POINTS!**
That's just **10 POINTS** behind the three bands tied for the top spot!
To put that into perspective, Lockney outscored EVERY 1A and 3A band, every other 2A band except Ropes, every 4A band except Plainview, and every 5A band except Abilene High!
**Let that sink in. Our little 2A school competing with some of the big boys and making its presence known!** 💪
📸 **NOW, ABOUT THIS BAND PHOTO...**
When you've got approximately 100 band members, getting everyone together for that perfect large group photograph can be quite the challenge.
So, we decided to approach things a little differently.
Rather than relying on one traditional group photograph, we photographed each band member individually and brought those portraits together into one large composite celebrating the **2026 Lockney Longhorn Band** and their marching show, *Kaleidoscope*.
Every student has their place. Every face matters. And together, they make up something pretty special.
It took a little extra creativity, a whole lot of individual portraits, and plenty of time putting it all together!
**Congratulations to the Longhorn Band, its directors, and every student who continues to put in the work!** Your hard work is showing, and your community has every reason to be proud!
