I had the pleasure of taking pictures for one of our favorite teachers and her husband to celebrate the birth of their daughter. When I tell you newborn pictures are my favorite, I hope you can tell when you look through these pictures- the awe and adoration of new parents beholding their child. It takes my breath away. I got to spend a morning taking pictures and talking about Slovakian Christmas traditions, which are very similar to the German traditions of my childhood, with this beautiful family. It was wonderful!

Well, just like that summer is gone (and the blue bird days are among us? What's this heat wave, October?). It was a weird one for us; I broke my ankle in July and didn't get to do any photo sessions or many family adventures. But it's nice to be back on my feet again (literally) with a camera in hand.

This is from a walk with friends the other day. I hope you all are enjoying the transition of seasons as much as I am.

This is Ellie. She is a woodland nymph and an absolute joy. We met up at a local trailhead for this 2020 graduation/new job headshot session. She graduated last year from University of Michigan Dearborn and has spent the past year living in Vienna as a Fulbright Scholar. (For those of you who don't know what this means, it means she's incredibly smart and accomplished.) Together, we braved the swarms of mosquitos and I'd say, judging by the gems I snapped, it was well worth it.
