Sam & Rachel brought me all the way from Tennessee to Mississippi to document their wedding day, and it ended up being one of those celebrations that quietly stays with you long after itās over.
The day unfolded with a kind of intention that you could feel in every detail, not in a staged way, but in the way their story had clearly been woven into everything. Before Rachel walked down the aisle, a voice memo she had recorded for Sam was played for everyone there. It was simple, unique, and full of love, and it shifted the entire room into something softer and more emotional right from the start.
They also chose a handfasting ceremony, with cords wrapped as a symbol of the life they were choosing together. It was one of those moments that didnāt need much explanation ā just two people stepping into something meaningful in a way that felt very them.
And then there were the lighter moments that balanced everything out. Rachel surprised Sam with a first look that involved the best man dressed in a wedding gown, and it turned into this burst of laughter that broke up all the nerves in the best way before the ceremony.
Even with rain moving in and out throughout the day, nothing about the energy ever shifted. If anything, it made everything feel a little more grounded ā like the focus stayed exactly where it should be: on the people, the vows, and the quiet in-between moments.
With lots of bubbles, so many thoughtful details, and joy that radiated through every second, nothing ā not even the rain ā could take away from how special this day felt. Their happiness completely outshined the gloomy skies.
As an added bonus, this trip also gave me a little time to explore New Orleans in between, making this wedding weekend one I wonāt forget anytime soon.
Iām beyond thankful I got to document the beginning of forever for these two, and these are only a handful of sneak peeks ā there is so much more from this beautiful day still to come. āØ
