I was so excited when I was approached with the idea for this little friend session. 🄹
So many of these sweet faces belong to kids of people I grew up with, and there was just something so special about getting to watch this group of babies start kindergarten together, knowing so many of their parents started out right here too.
As I was editing these, Adam was sitting on the couch next to me, and every time I pulled up a new kid he’d go, ā€œOh, that’s so-and-so’s kid!ā€ before I even told him who they belonged to. šŸ˜‚ You can just SEE their parents in their little faces.
There’s something really neat about watching the people you grew up with grow up, have babies of their own, and then getting to document those babies starting school together.
Definitely one of my favorite parts of being a photographer in a small town. Everybody’s story feels a little bit connected. šŸ¤

Senior Sunday šŸ¤
A little reminder for my Class of 2027 seniors and mamas who have been saying, ā€œWe have plenty of timeā€¦ā€
You might not. šŸ˜‚
I absolutely WILL fill up for my one-off senior sessions this year, and I’m already over halfway booked for spring… and it isn’t even fall yet.
Senior year has a funny way of feeling like you have forever and then suddenly you’re ordering a cap and gown, making graduation plans and wondering how in the world you got here so fast.
And senior pictures are one of those things I really don’t want you to have to squeeze in wherever there happens to be an opening.
I want us to have time to plan them. To talk about who your senior actually is. What they wear, what they love, where they feel most like themselves. I want their gallery to feel like them during this tiny little in-between season where they’re still your kid, but you can already see the adult they’re becoming.
So if senior pictures are on your list for this year, please don’t wait until spring to reach out.

EDIT: Y’all are already making me so excited about these!! Just a heads up that I am currently booking about 3 months out, so these won’t necessarily be immediate sessions. We’ll choose a date that works with my availability and makes sense for the concept/season. If you’re down to plan ahead and create something really freaking fun with me, KEEP THE MESSAGES COMING šŸ˜‚šŸ«¶šŸ¼

I have some fun creative session ideas living in my head that I REALLY want to bring to life, so I’m looking for a few couples and families who are down to create with me!

These are all going to be very storytelling-focused sessions. Think less posing for the camera and more creating a whole little story together.

Couples:
Laundromat date night
Aquarium date
Nighttime under the streetlights
Dive bar date night

Families:
Camping + around the fire
Flying kites at the beach
Ice cream shop
Sprinklers + 90s summer nostalgia

Because these are concepts I specifically want to create, I’m offering $100 off my Creative Storytelling Sessions for one couple/family per idea!

Creative sessions normally start at $425, so these will be $325 AND I’ll be waiving my normal travel fees for any of these concepts that require us to travel outside of my area.

>>>A couple of things before you reach out:

these sessions are going to be very intentionally planned and styled. You’ll need to be willing to follow my styling guide and be open to my recommendations on clothing, colors, location, timing, etc. Some of these concepts may require additional admission or location fees, like the aquarium, and those would be the responsibility of the client.

Basically, I have the vision, I’ll help you put all the pieces together, and I need people who are excited to fully lean into it with me.

If you saw one of these and immediately thought, ā€œTHAT ONE,ā€ comment below or send me a message and tell me which one you want to do!

I only need one couple/family for each concept, so once I find the right fit for each one, it’s gone. I am SO excited to make some of these happen.

I’ve been called a drama queen basically since the day I was born.
And actually...I think it might be my superpower as a photographer.
I romanticize everything.
I’m a theater kid at heart. I love a good story. I love books that completely consume you and poetry that makes you stop for a second after you read it. I listen to music for the lyrics. I want to know what the song is saying. I love movies that make your chest hurt a little. I notice the light coming through a window and immediately decide it means something.
I am, without question, dramatic. šŸ˜‚
But somewhere along the way, I realized that all of those things I was probably teased for growing up are the exact things that make me the photographer I am.
Because when I photograph a wedding, I don’t just see a wedding.
I see a story unfolding.
I see the way your dad looks at you before he walks you down the aisle. The nervous hands. Your mom watching from across the room. The champagne glasses left on the table after everyone has wandered onto the dance floor. The veil catching the wind. The quiet moment between two people when they forget anyone else is there.
I’m constantly looking for the photograph that feels like something.
The one that could be a still from a movie.
The one that deserves a song playing behind it.
The one you look at ten years from now and suddenly remember exactly who you were in that moment.
So yeah…
Drama queen? Absolutely.
But I think wedding days deserve to be romanticized.
They deserve to be documented by someone who believes the little moments are actually very big ones.
And luckily for me, I’ve spent my entire life doing exactly that.

I shoot wide to show you where you were. I get close enough to catch the little details. I photograph the movement and the stillness. I shoot through things, change my perspective, intentionally let things fall out of focus. I’ll photograph the same moment from far away and then come in close enough to see the way your hands are tangled together.

I’m looking for the establishing shots, the portraits, the details, the transitions and the weird little in-between frames that might not be the photo you hang above your fireplace, but are absolutely the photo that makes the story feel complete.

Sometimes I’ll direct you. Sometimes I’ll create movement and then let whatever happens, happen. And sometimes I’m just watching and waiting because I can feel a moment coming.

I want variety because that’s how a story gets told.

Not 40 perfectly composed photographs that could all stand alone.

A gallery that works together.

Wide. Tight. Blurry. Sharp. Moving. Still. Perfectly composed and beautifully imperfect.

Like frames pulled from a movie about your own life.

That’s the way I shoot, because I don’t just want you to remember what this chapter looked like.

I want you to remember how it moved.

You can’t see everything on your wedding day.
You just can’t.
You’re standing there, looking at the person you’re about to spend your life with. You’re listening to the words being spoken. You’re trying to take in the weight of the moment while somehow also wondering how it’s already going by so fast.
And while all of that is happening…
your mom is watching you.
The women who have loved you, raised you, prayed for you, laughed with you, walked through life with you, they’re watching too.
And you might never see the look on their faces.
At least, not until you get your wedding gallery back.
This is why choosing your photographer is about so much more than finding someone who can take a beautiful picture.
Hire someone who looks around.
Someone who knows that sometimes the most important photograph isn’t happening at the altar.
Someone who notices your dad trying not to cry. Your grandmother reaching for someone’s hand. Your best friend looking at you like she can’t believe this day is finally here. Your mom watching her little girl become someone’s wife.
Because there will be so much happening around you that day that you simply won’t get to see.
And one of my favorite parts of this job is getting to give those moments back to you.
The ones you remember.
And especially the ones you missed. šŸ¤

There’s a moment on almost every wedding day when I look around and think, this is the part they don’t know they’re going to miss yet.
It’s not always the kiss.
Sometimes it’s your mom standing across the room watching you get ready, trying so hard not to cry.
It’s your best friend fixing your veil. Your dad lingering in the doorway. Your grandmother’s hands wrapped around yours. The way your husband looks at you when no one is asking him to smile for a picture.
It’s the table half-covered in champagne glasses after dinner. The flowers starting to lean a little. Bare feet on the dance floor. Your people laughing so hard they’ve forgotten there’s a camera in the room.
Those are the photographs I’m always looking for.
Of course I’ll photograph the beautiful things you spent months choosing. I’ll guide you when you need me to. I’ll make sure you have the portraits that deserve to live framed on your walls.
But I’m also paying attention to everything happening in between.
Because one day, the flowers will be gone. The dress will be tucked away. The music will have stopped playing.
And what you’ll have left are photographs that let you remember not only what your wedding looked like...
but what it felt like to be there.
That’s always the part I’m chasing. šŸ¤

In an industry full of scammers... read reviews!!!!

"Working with Pamela and Adam was an absolute dream - they captured our wedding day in such a way that when my husband and I looked at our gallery, we weren't just shown a collection of pretty images. We were told the entire story of the day. We were able to reminisce on the sweet and laugh at the funny. There were so many beautiful, Instagram worthy photos in our gallery, but there were so many where we were just being our honest selves. I didn't feel pressured into poses or like I had to perform the whole day. I simply had a blast and Pamela captured the energy of every moment. She also truly celebrated us - we didn't feel like just another client because she was genuinely excited to capture our day and tell our love story. I couldn't recommend Pamela enough - she is a genuinely sweet and so so so good at what she does! ā¤ļø"
