I know you want to get back to your reception. Your favorite people are there, the music is going, and you’ve been looking forward to celebrating with them.

But stepping outside together for a few minutes can feel really good, too. You get to catch your breath, be close, and have a second to realize, “We’re actually married.”

I’ll keep an eye on the light and work with your timeline so we can make the most of those few minutes. A little direction, some time together, and then back to the party.

Those sunset photos are always worth making a little room for.

I love a big laughing photo, but I’m always drawn to these quieter portraits, too. Soft light, pretty greens, and the little details like her hand resting against her sweater.

You don’t have to smile at the camera the entire time we’re taking photos. I’ll give you direction, help you settle in, and leave room for different expressions along the way.

Sometimes the photo you end up loving most is one you weren’t expecting. And that’s part of why I like to slow down and try a few things while we’re together.

I love a good creative session, and your engagement photos can be anything you want them to be.

When these two told me they love a good gas station snack run together, I immediately thought, “Okay, we have to do that.” So we made it happen.

Tell me about your snack runs, your favorite date spot, or the things you do together that you probably wouldn’t think to mention while planning photos. I love taking something that feels everyday to you and finding a way to make it part of your session.

You don’t have to come to me with a whole vision. Sometimes all we need is a little piece of your story and somewhere to start.

Part of photographing a wedding is knowing when to give a little direction and when to let a moment happen.

Sometimes that means asking your sister-in-law to help with the finishing touches instead of having you do them yourself. Giving you a chance to slow down together before the day gets busy. Then stepping back and paying attention to what happens between you.

I can give you something to do with your hands, but the way she looks at you, the laugh you share, the way you reach for each other, that comes from the relationship you already have.

That’s such a big part of my approach. Helping you feel comfortable enough to be present with your people, and knowing when to stop talking and take the picture.
