2026 Montana DarkStar Wall Calendar

The design for the 2026 wall calendar is finished, and the calendars have been ordered from the printer. I anticipate having them delivered to me during the week following Thanksgiving and will start shipping them as soon as they arrive.

I will have a few extras, beyond the preorders, that are still available, but they will likely go quickly. Order yours today if you haven’t already.

This year the calendar focuses on my journey as an astrophotographer, including images from each year that I have spent capturing the night.

As in previous years, the calendar is more than just a grid of dates. It includes information about astronomical events that will occur throughout the year, including the lunar cycle and best viewing times for the Milky Way core, different planets, meteor showers, and eclipses (solar and lunar).

2026 Montana DarkStar Wall Calendars - Pre-order now!!!

The first image is one of the calendar grids that are on the bottom half of the 2026 Wall Calendars.

The second image highlights some of the unique features for tracking astronomical events that I have included in the calendar (information related to meteor showers, eclipses, and best times for viewing different planets is all included).

The calendar is 12"x12" closed, 12"(w)x 24"(h) opened.

I will put a link to purchase the calendars in the comments. If you want one, please try to pre-order as I don't normally have a lot of extras after they are received.

I am planning to place my order with the printer tomorrow and have them delivered to everyone by mid December.

2026 Montana DarkStar Wall Calendar

I am still tweaking the final design for the 2026 calendar, but am getting close to being done. There is a possibility I may switch out an image or two, but I think these are the images that will appear on the top section of each month's page.

As mentioned, this calendar is a little bit different than the calendar I have released in the last few years. Moving to Idaho meant I wasn't able to get out and capture the night quite as much as I have in previous years. Therefore, I decided to use several of the months in this year's calendar to highlight my journey as an astrophotographer, sharing my favorite images that I have captured since I started my journey into the night. I included my favorite new images that were captured in 2025 as well.

I will share the calendar grid design for the bottom sections of the calendar tomorrow. As in previous years, the calendar will include information about the best viewing times for the milky way, meteor showers, and planets, as well as the lunar cycle.

If you haven't pre-ordered a calendar yet and are planning to do so, try to place your order before Friday. That is the deadline for me to place the order with the printer. I will have a few extras available after that, but not many.

This is one of the images I captured the other night as the northern lights put on a show. This was my first northern lights experience in Idaho, but hopefully not my last.

The presale of 2026 Wall Calendars is now live. Link to order is in the comments. I plan to have calendars delivered by mid-December. I am getting started a little later than usual, but I will make sure that they are all delivered well before Christmas and the New Year.

This year’s calendar is a little bit different than previous years in that it will include some of my favorite photos that I’ve captured since I began my journey into the night. The focus will be on images that I captured during 2025, but with moving to Idaho this year, I haven’t been able to get out and capture the night as much as I would have liked.
