You guys, our FFA students here in Littlestown are AWESOME! 💙💛🚜
This morning, they — along with their parents and families — put on a tractor and car show, and I couldn’t help but stop and take it all in.
There’s just something about seeing all of those old tractors lined up that gets me.
I look at those faded seats, worn tires, chipped paint, and especially those old steering wheels…and I wonder what they’ve seen.
How many thousands of acres have passed beneath those tires?
How many early mornings did someone climb onto that seat before the sun came up, knowing there was a long day of work ahead?
How many times did a farmer sit behind that wheel praying for rain — or praying for it to stop?
How many little boys and girls rode on Grandpa’s lap, tiny hands wrapped around that same steering wheel, convinced they were the ones driving?
How many fathers taught their sons and daughters to work the land from that seat? How many conversations happened over the sound of that engine? How many lessons about hard work, responsibility, family, and life were passed from one generation to the next?
Some of those hands that once held those steering wheels may not be with us anymore.
But the tractors are.
And so are the stories. 🧡💚💛
That’s what makes days like this so special. Our FFA students aren’t just learning about agriculture — they’re helping carry forward a way of life, a history, and a tradition that helped build communities like ours.
To our Littlestown FFA students, parents, families, and everyone who brought out a piece of their own history today — thank you. You made this heart of mine reminisce when I was a little girl and my grandpa would come in from the field and take off his coveralls and hang them up! 🥺
Those old tractors may have a little rust on them, but I have a feeling their stories will never grow old. 🚜💙💛🚜
