Sydney Sligh Photography Images that make you feel something. Published wedding photographer specializing in love & family Born and partially raised in Alaska. Also - a total foodie.

The other half of my life I’ve been right here in Arkansas. So, I’m a solid mix of all sorts of things! If I don’t have a camera in my hand, I’m probably listening to music. I’m a total music ju**ie & don’t discriminate against a single genre. One thing about me, I crave sunlight. Being outside is a must for me & I’ll probably be barefoot the entire time. I’m absolutely disgustingly in love with m

y husband & you will probably hear me bring him up at least once, I can’t help it. I’m a mama to the best little kids, obviously biased, but they really are. When I have time off, I really dig riding down a back road with my little family and of course the windows must be down. I love seeing new places, meeting new faces & trying new things! I live to take pictures. I am a natural light photographer that enjoys the simple things in life. I have a true gypsy soul that LOVES to travel so coming to you is never a problem. I love capturing the raw emotion in every setting and I have a burning passion for the detail pictures. I want to get to know you. I want to know what sets your soul on fire. I want to capture the love in your life, the laughter of your children. I want to capture moments in time. I know you're wondering if I'm going to pose you. The answer is yes, but it's more than a pose. It's you telling your partner how much you love them. It's tickling your children. It's holding hands and swaying to your favorite love song. I want to capture realness. I want to capture love. I want to capture life. I hope you're ready for an adventure and way too much laughing. I look forward to hearing from you! I’m a 5 generations photographer. My first camera at age 8. My first DSLR (fancy camera) at age 16. I graduated in 2012 from Sheridan High School, took a year off, and headed to Henderson State took focus on getting a Pre-Med degree. Let’s just all laugh because one semester later I had been convinced to major in Art, more specifically Graphic Design with a minor in Photography. In February 2015 I had my son. I left the hospital with a baby and severe nerve damage causing partial paralysis. So, I picked up my camera. Shout out to Lydia Sartain for hiring me to photograph her family. And here I am. It’s 2022 and I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings, hundreds of families. I've delivered 10's of thousands of pictures to clients across the United States. I’ve been nationally featured. I’ve been printed in major wedding magazines. It’s crazy! I’ve built not only a business but a reputation. It’s one of those “never thought it would happen in a million years” kinda things. All the glory to God on that one.

The craziest rain storm rolled in and completely changed the plans for the day, but somehow it made everything feel even more meaningful. Mallory and Luke handled every shift and surprise with so much grace and resilience, never letting the weather steal even a second of joy from their wedding day. Honestly, being around them felt special. They are two of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and you could tell everyone around them felt the exact same way. Every conversation I overheard was filled with love for these two and stories about just how incredible they are.
Instead of the outdoor ceremony they had originally planned, we moved everything inside for an intimate candlelit ceremony, and wow… it could not have been more romantic. The glow of the candles, the sound of rain outside, and every single eye completely locked on Mallory and Luke made the entire room feel magical. The pure joy radiating off of these two was unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed. They were so fully present with each other that the rest of the world seemed to disappear the moment they locked eyes.
And when the officiant announced that Luke could kiss his bride, the room absolutely erupted. I swear the hoops and hollers could have been heard down the street. The excitement, the emotion, the overwhelming love in that room was unforgettable. Despite the rain and all the changed plans, these two embraced every moment with so much positivity and joy, and in the end it made the entire day feel even more beautiful. It was the kind of wedding that reminds you what it’s all about. Being surrounded by the people you love most and marrying your best friend, no matter what the weather decides to do.

A day filled with so many precious moments 🥹 I could have posted every single one but here are some of my favorites!

There’s something rare and beautiful about a wedding day where everything slows down just enough for you to actually feel it. This day was exactly that. Intentional in every moment, never rushed, never forced. It wasn’t about checking off a timeline or performing for the camera, it was about being present with the people who mattered most. You could see it in the way hands were held a little longer, in the quiet smiles exchanged across the room, in the deep breaths taken before each new moment began. It felt less like an event and more like a collection of memories unfolding in real time.
I had the honor of stepping into the day as a quiet observer. A fly on the wall, documenting love exactly as it existed without interruption. The kind of love that doesn’t need direction or prompting. Their first look was one of the sweetest I’ve witnessed. Emotional and completely unguarded. Tears fell freely, not out of nerves, but out of overwhelming joy and the weight of everything that led them to that moment. It was intimate and genuine in a way that can’t be recreated, and I felt incredibly lucky to preserve it just as it was.
The bubble exit felt like something out of a dream. So much laughter, glowing light, and tiny shimmering reflections floating through the air. And then the reception, as everyone stepped out on the lawn overlooking the most breathtaking view, where everyone gathered under the open sky. The sunset painted everything in the softest, warmest tones I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. Sealing the day in a glow that felt almost too perfect to be real.

A rainy Friday set the scene for the Rooney wedding, but not even the steady fall of rain could dim the kind of love Lauren and Gabe share. If anything, it felt like the sky itself was leaning in. Like the world knew this wasn’t just a wedding, but the continuation of something that had been growing for years.
Lauren and Gabe met back in seventh grade, and somehow, through all the seasons of growing up, they never let go of each other. There’s something so rare and deeply moving about a love that doesn’t just survive time. It’s shaped by it. Being around them, you can feel it instantly: the comfort, the history, the unspoken knowing. They aren’t just a couple, they’re home to each other. And that love radiates outward, touching every friend and family member lucky enough to stand in their orbit.
When they read their vows, it was impossible to stay untouched. Tears I couldn’t hold back. It was one of those moments where you realize you’re witnessing something sacred, something real and enduring. To know Lauren and Gabe is already a gift, but to be invited into a day so full of meaning, emotion, and unwavering love, that’s something I’ll carry with me forever. That and the killer dance floor! 😉

Emily and Tate opted for an immediate family only ceremony and honestly it was just so special. Taking the pressure away from standing in front of the crowd is the way to go if you and your partner aren’t fans of being the center of attention.

I have a lot of couples going this route this year and honestly, I’m LOVING it. The ceremony is the most emotional and personal part of the wedding. Keeping it small allows you to share the moment with only your closest family and friends. It reduces distractions and pressure so you feel more comfortable and present. With fewer people watching, couples often feel the moment is more genuine and intimate.

Ceremonies can be expensive when you include seating, programs, venue space, transportation, and coordination for a large group. A smaller ceremony means:
- Fewer chairs and decorations
- Smaller venue or even a private location
- Less coordination and logistics
Then you can save money for the reception, which is what most guests are excited about.

A small ceremony allows you to choose unique or meaningful places like:
- A garden
- A scenic overlook
- A family home
- A small chapel
Many beautiful locations simply can’t accommodate large guest lists.

At large weddings, couples often feel rushed greeting everyone. With a private ceremony, you can enjoy the moment privately with no time restraints. Then spend the reception socializing and celebrating with everyone.

Viv is pure sunshine in human form!
I had a realization before their session that I have been with them for over 3 years. I photographed Cam and Sydnee while she was pregnant. It's so cool that I have gotten to watch this little miracle grow into one of the smartest most hilarious little girls I've ever met. So honored to document another milestone for them 🥰

Photographing weddings constantly reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do. Every time I walk into a room filled with family, friends, and anticipation, I’m surrounded by this quiet electricity of love. It’s not just another day. It’s a day people have dreamed about, planned for, and waited for. Being trusted to capture it all feels like a privilege that I never want to take for granted.
What makes it even more meaningful are the intimate moments that unfold naturally throughout the day. The nervous smiles before the ceremony, the tight hugs between parents and their children, the way two people look at each other when they think no one else is watching. Standing behind the camera, I get a front row seat to emotions that are raw, honest, and beautiful. I’m not just documenting a day, I’m witnessing stories that families will hold onto for generations.
At the end of the day, I leave every wedding feeling grateful. Grateful that couples invite me into such personal spaces, grateful that I get to preserve memories that will matter years from now, and grateful that my work allows me to feel the warmth of so much love in one place. It’s a reminder that this job is about far more than photographs. It’s about connection, trust, and the quiet magic of people celebrating each other.

I’ve been holding onto one of my favorite days from last year because it was just that good. The kind of day that lingers with you. I couldn’t quite figure out how to share it because no single post could ever do it justice. Every moment felt intentional, meaningful, and overflowing with love, and I’ve found myself revisiting it in my heart again and again.
Sarah Beth and Bradyn planned the most intimate ceremony and candlelit reception at Roseberry Farms, and it was pure magic. Of course, with Sarah Beth being the talent behind Oh Hey Bouquet, the florals were absolutely breathtaking. Her color palette was pure perfection, and every tiny detail reflected so much care and creativity. You could see the work they poured into the day and it showed in the most beautiful way. From the moment I stepped into the bridal suite and was welcomed with open arms, I knew this wasn’t just another wedding. It was going to be something incredibly special.
What stood out just as much as the stunning details was the love that surrounded them. You could feel the depth of their village. The friends and family who adore them and show up fully for them. It was powerful and tender and unforgettable. Being trusted to witness and capture that kind of love is an honor I don’t take lightly, and I can honestly say I’ve thought about that day often since.

My humans are getting married!
For many couples, a dog isn’t just a pet, they’re family. Whether you adopted your pup together, got through tough seasons side by side, or simply bonded over daily walks, your dog represents a chapter of your relationship. Dogs help couples relax. Instead of focusing on posing, you’re interacting. You’re laughing when they zoom, kneeling down for cuddles, or walking hand in hand with a leash between you. Those candid moments often become the most treasured images. Engagement photos are about capturing who you are right now. If your weekends revolve around park dates, hikes, or couch snuggles with your pup, including them reflects your real life together. Dogs don’t stay with us forever. Including them in milestone moments like engagement photos creates keepsakes you’ll cherish for years. Especially as your life grows and changes. If you’re planning your engagement session, think about this:
When you look back in 10, 20, 30 years… will it feel more like you with your dog by your side?
