Here’s another favorite Lucky One (the shots that just happen to happen)…

Just getting this perspective with the dock + the water + the golden glow made my heart ZING but then…

These two cutie patootie cousins added some serious angles to the mix and I was DONE. I gave them some sunnies and asked them to cross legs but that natural sass was all them and it was - it is - everything.

I would love to do a full minis marathon on the dock because these two made it so stinkin’ magical.

Giving a few of my favorite Lucky Ones (the shots that just happen to happen 😉) a place on the feed. This snap makes me s m i l e.

I told Mom and Dad to cuddle up and be very still while the kiddos were challenged to run circles around them.

Y’all. There was so much running but it was the jumping, the flailing arms, the lanky legs and the goofy faces that was truly on brand for these two.

Is this one of the parents’ favorite photos right now? Mmm, probably not. But… it will be. When these wild ones have matured past this phase, they’ll love that this rambuctious, beautiful blur of a season was captured.

Childhood goes by in a blink; I love capturing those little things that make them who they are in that moment.

I’m highlighting a few of my favorite Lucky Ones (the shots that just happen to happen 😉) from the season as we inch toward the end of 2025 and this one is e v e r y t h i n g.

I asked mom and dad to hold their daughter and face away from the camera. I wasn’t sure what I was going to get, if anything, but sweet girl created magic. She laid her down on her parents’ shoulders with the sweetest little smile. Unprompted, pure joy.

I’m pretty sure my heart skipped a beat.

THIS. This right here, y’all! This is the #1 reason I named my business Lucky One Photography…

The greatest photos for me are often the ones captured by luck, not skill, experience or delicious lighting. It’s when a singularly perfect (or amazingly imperfect) moment tucked into a session is captured with a click. When all the eyes are bright, the smiles are full, the wind is calm and the pups are still.

This is why I overshoot, why I always say “just one more” (even though it rarely is) and why my heart breaks if I happen to miss that singularly perfect moment and become determined to recreate it. 😉

This is one of my absolute favorite Lucky Ones of the season. It captures three wild hearts in a quiet beat of connection. 🫶 🐾 🫶 🐾
