You probably know this about us already but one of the first things we plan with you for your elopement is your location!

I had been DYING to get a couple out to this place but it was tough finding a couple that would be the right fit, UNTIL Beni and Gabe came along! Being able to offer a variety of locations to our couples is something we specialize in! When you hire us as your photographer and videographer, you don’t need to worry about trying to plan where to go for your elopement all on your own. With the help of our handy dandy questionnaire (given to our couples only) we collaborate together and come up with the most perfect place for YOU!

Trust us with planning and documenting your day! It’s not just about the location, it’s about connecting to a location that will leave you with an experience you’ll never forget!

When your walk down the isle is your walk down the trail 🤩

These spots in Sedona require very MINIMAL hiking! Ya girl is not the best hiker 😅 also though, because we offer both photo and video we do haul a TON of equipment so it would be tough for us to do significantly longer hikes without having to leave some equipment behind. Unless I got strong and worked out 💪🏻 But this means you don’t have to be a great hiker either 😁

You’ll fill out our locations questionnaire and this will help us to give you location recommendations catered to you and what you envision your day looking like!

So come join us out on the trails! 🤗

“DEAR WILD WOMEN, those who do not understand you are just not yet free themselves. You were not born to be tamed or to please others. Set your soul on fire, show them what freedom looks like. WILD WOMEN BE FREE” ✨| I found this quote from and fell in love! 😍 I feel like it’s everything I want my outdoor self love sessions to represent! It’s so hard not to worry about what other people think. YOU DO YOU and let them do them 😎

WHO PAYS FOR THE WEDDING? ➡️ I don’t think I’ve ever really heard or paid attention to who “traditionally” pays for the wedding?? Have you? I don’t think I would EXPECT any of our parents to pay for our wedding. Of course any help is always MUCH appreciated 😁 and we did get help 🙏🏼

We had help with our flowers, the food, and the DJ! 🙌🏼 we had a very frugal wedding haha 😄 we got married at our church which costed $0. Our reception was in the baseball field of the church which coasted $0. The church already had long tables and chairs that we were able to use which costed $0. I think we borrowed my cousin’s linens for the tables so that was $0. My brother in law built us a dance floor and big light stands to hold the string lights. I did my own hair so $0. My sister did my makeup $0. I asked a friend of mines mom to make my wedding dress and she charged me $315. I don’t remember how much Cam’s custom suit was but I’m pretty sure not more than $300. He ordered his own ring on Amazon for $20 and didn’t even tell me 😂 we paid a family friend who’s a photographer $500 😬 and we didn’t even have a videographer 😭

So basically LOTS of the larger items we didn’t even have to pay for 😊 I believe we spent between $5k-$6k of our own money on our wedding. Which I’m pretty sure about $1,500 of that went to our honeymoon. We had very minimal DIY decor 😂 so I’m not even sure what we spent the rest of that on 🤣. Probably just small things here and there.

Anyway, who do you think pays for the wedding? Did you get any help? Feel free to share how much you spent 😁

WHY DO ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS COST MORE? This question came up in a FB group I’m in. Now, this isn’t a blanket statement. WE charge the same price for an engagement session vs a regular couple’s adventure session….for now. BUT, let me tell you why other photographers do charge more or why WE would charge more in the future.

The average couple wanting engagement photos will want to dress in a really nice outfit (dress/suit) & will usually wanna do outfit changes. Each outfit change adds MORE photos to the gallery. This means, more photos to go through & more photos to edit (we don’t put a cap on the amount of images we deliver…for now).

This also means we need to take time to photograph the ring, your hands, poses where you can specifically see the ring, etc. & of course you’re gonna wanna use these images for save the dates, invites, guest signing books, a wedding website, or even printed out at your wedding. So we need to think about the orientation of the photos & make sure we have a variety to give you where some are vertical & some are horizontal. This also means making sure there’s space for you to include wording on top of images like wedding info.

There’s A LOT of behind the scenes that goes into engagement photos on OUR end. These are gonna be seen by TONS of eyes so of course you wanna look your best & we wanna make sure we can deliver that for you.

So, what is the difference between an adventure session & an engagement session? An adventure session is much more laid back, less images, and usually you’ll use these for your home, posting to IG, and maybe even use a couple for your Christmas Card. There’s not nearly as much pressure 🙏🏼🙌🏼 You’re there to have fun! Now, we DO have Adventure Engagement Sessions which ends up being a combo of the two options & usually these sessions last longer.

If fancy outfits are not your vibe, keep it casual! You do you! 😎

Moab is such a huge and beautiful place to explore, it’s tough trying to decide on one location to shoot at. So don’t! We went to THREE different locations with Danica and Mapo a couple weeks before their wedding day! 😍 we went to Arches National Park for a sunset shoot. Then the next day we spent sunrise together drinking hot cocoa and soaking in that panoramic view! 🙌🏼 Later that day we drove around in our truck, and they rented a jeep, for an off road trail! I really wanted them to be able to feel like they SAW Moab and EXPERIENCED it! Not just made a quick stop to take photos and then that’s it, ESPECIALLY when coming from out of state.

We had THREE sessions over the course of TWO days. They left saying how now they were gonna buy a Jeep, and several months later THEY DID! 🤩🙌🏼

Tap that link in our bio to book your adventure session with us! 🤗 and hit that SAVE button ⬇️ so you can reference back these locations!

How to Stay Married: Tip from a 7.5 year long married couple with no kids and comfortable finances 😆 Cam would say, “you see, that’s all you need to stay married! No kids and no money troubles” 😂 I will say though, I have heard that the top marital arguments/fights are because of kids and having money trouble. Yay or nay?

The one tip I have for you today is have vulnerable communication. We like to talk about how great the last year has been, how much we love our lives with one another, and how much we love each other. I also like to pointout that it’s been a LONG time since we’ve had any sort of “disagreement” or “frustrated talks”. I KID YOU NOT, I can’t even remember the last disagreement we had. It’s been HAPPY DAYS! A big part of it is because we’ve tried very hard to communicate with one another.

Most men need to be told EXACTLY what we want from them, maybe some women! Cameron tells me this too! If I want him to do something, just say it! Don’t just think, “well he should know!” BIG NO NO! Most recent example: I would think to myself, “I really wish my husband would surprise me with a small treat or SOMETHING”. And since he never did, and I never hinted at it, I finally just nicely told him that if he was ever out and about and stopped by a gas station or something then maybe he could bring me a treat because I just want to know that he’s thinking of me. So he said, “well just tell me what you want and I’ll go get it”. I told him I want him to just see something and think, “oh my wife would probably like this I’m gonna get it for her”. And he said “well how am I supposed to know what to get you if you don’t tell me?” 🤦🏻‍♀️😄 So instead of getting frustrated, I asked him to bring me some white frosted donuts 🤣 AND HE DID! 🥰

COMMUNICATE with each other! I would STILL like him to do things like this on his own but one step at a time 😊❤️

When Cameron and I were just dating, we went on a couple of 10 hour+ road trips together. This was SUPER beneficial for our relationship because more than once on these road trips, we got into a couple of arguments 😄 and there’s no where to go but be there with each other, awkward, upset, and basically see how we handle these situations 😆. We also did a lot of exploring! I learned pretty early on to stop being so “sensitive “, as he would say 🤣 (and not in a mean way, because I used to be VERY sensitive. I’ll own that 100%!), and he learned how I want to be spoken to and how I don’t want to be spoken to 😊 TRUST ME! These very simple adjustments have been the TOPS! It’s helped avoid many other arguments. We are of course not perfect by any means, but married life is so good 🥰

I bring this up because, going on adventure sessions like the one you see here with Lauren + Brayden really reminds me of our trips and adventures during our dating life. If I have one piece of advice for you that are dating, GO ON A ROAD TRIP! It can really test your relationship, for the good if you let it, and you’re more prone to really show your true self and not just the self that you’re trying to show off or make look good.

Adventure sessions are more than just your typical “couple’s/engagement” session. It’s more than just something to be checked off a list. We want your session to be a real experience just like our adventures were before and after we were married.

Want something a little different than your average engagement session, head to our website and hit that inquire button and let’s work together! 😎

WHY I LOVE DRIED BOUQUETS! 🤩
1️⃣ They travel so much easier which means no water spills!

2️⃣ They won’t wilt! Which means they’ll look nice and fresh for your photos ALL DAY or especially for your multi-day elopement!

3️⃣ They’re already preserved! This means you can keep them at home out on display as a centerpiece for your table or pack it in your wedding memories box and you can be sure that when you go to open it those flowers will be looking as beautiful as the day you got married! 🤗

I completely forgot to tell my family that I wanted to keep my bouquet because I loved it so much, so after we left for our honeymoon and they were cleaning up for us it got tossed out 😭 my sister did text me asking me if I wanted to keep it BUT I had forgotten my phone in my mom’s car and didn’t have it at all while we were gone 😅

Keep in mind, dried bouquets usually cost more but they’re totally worth it! 🙌🏼 If you don’t love the idea of tossing out your fresh bouquet, there are plenty of people who offer preservation services! I recommend looking into that BEFORE your wedding! Or just get a dried bouquet 😁

This Sedona Elopement Video is a great example of getting ready/waking up together but getting into wedding attire separately! Chelsea and Chad had a sunrise elopement in Sedona so we used our truck, a large mirror, and some head lamps to help them get dressed! They got dressed on opposite sides of our truck and the my had a first look using our truck headlights 🤗

We then did a short hike to their ceremony location where they said their EMOTIONAL “I Do’s” 🥰🥹

Chelsea did her own hair and makeup and also created her own bouquet 😁 simple can still be so beautiful! 🥰

5️⃣ THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN PLANNING YOUR OFF-ROAD ELOPEMENT

1️⃣Guest Count: WE consider an elopement to be
+/- 5 guests. More than that, we consider it a micro wedding. This doesn’t mean we can’t do the same things, but once you have more guests, it means more people to wait on, to travel with, & to plan your day around. This can put a limit on location options.

2️⃣Location: We have SO many location recommends! Keep an open mind & be flexible. You may think you want a Sedona elopement but after seeing our suggestions you may decide you want to elope in Moab instead! Or maybe you thought you wanted to get married at a beach in San Diego but realize you can get married in the Red Roods & still take beach pictures that same day! The options are endless!

3️⃣Transportation: We have space in our truck for the two of you & your pup! We HIGHLY recommend that you rent an off-road vehicle (truck, jeep, razor, etc.) if you don't already have one, so you can experience the thrill yourself! Try renting multiple Jeeps or razors & give your guests an experience they never would have gotten with a more traditional wedding!

4️⃣Permits/Rules: Getting married at a National Park/State park, requires that you apply for & purchase a permit first. A lot of BLM Land, and forest service land do not require the use of wedding or photography permits. Some do so always check ahead of time. Apply at LEAST 6 months in advance. The fees range between $50-$250+. That’s right! SO much cheaper than paying $10K+ for a traditional wedding venue!

5️⃣Weather & Time of Year: Decide on the location you love & THEN work out the time of year to get married. We don’t want you to be totally set on a specific date & get excited about a location only to be disappointed that the roads to get there are closed that time of year. Then decide if you'd rather be hot or cold! We help you with ALL OF THIS! ✉️ Contact US to plan YOUR Off-Road Elopement! 😁
