Hiking along the Ellis River. With all the rain that had fallen the previous days, along with the melting snow, I knew she would be on full display. Plus, the weather was saying there was to be fog.
With the excitement of a cat in a cardboard box, I jumped out of bed, had my cups of coffee, and hit the road a little after 6 a.m. I actually got there before the fog, as you can see in photo #1. I had started the hike back up when the wall of fog decided to roll in, so I hiked back down, found a different composition, and took photo #2. With fear of the fog lifting, I hiked back up to the first fall, passing juicy opportunities along the way. The only way to get my shot of the day in photo #3 was to take the plunge in the river. The water being shin deep, it wasn't too treacherous. It was cold at first, but that went away after a couple of minutes. Totally worth it; unfortunately, I didn't bring an extra pair of socks and shoes like I normally do. My feet were pretty ripe when I got home.

I woke up at 4:15 this morning, opened the weather app on my phone, and looked at the cloud cover in Georgetown. Got out of bed, threw on pjs, went to the bathroom, and debated if I should make the trip. After deciding to, I realized I was very short on time. Instead of layering up, I just threw snow pants on over my pjs, grabbed my gear, and ran out the door. When starting the vehicle, I noticed there wasn't enough gas to get there. Damnit! After filling up, I won't say how fast I was going, but I felt like Jimmy Johnson in the "48" car. I arrived just as colors started to show.
Not to complain about anything, but I wish there was a fresh coat of snow on the dock. Besides that, it was one hell of a beautiful morning.

After culling through 4000+ photos in my Lightroom, I have enough shots to make a 2027 calendar. ..stay tuned!

Yesterday I went sunset chasing at Lookout Point in Harpswell.
Although the clouds never lit up, I had fun playing around with the sunburst in different areas. Then the sun tucked itself behind the cloud bank in the distance. I was about to call it quits but instead decided to hang around for blue hour, and actually enjoyed the shot I ended up getting.
Good times!

This morning I took my first trip to the Nubble Lighthouse. It was a very cold and windy morning. I could actually feel the cold in my lungs. My eyes froze along with my beard and boogies. I had wished I had gotten here earlier in the morning when the storm clouds were basically right behind this little island. But I'll take this for my first visit.

While cleaning up Lightroom, I come across photos that had been overlooked, or ones that "I'll come back to it" and forgot to. This capture of Pemaquid Light is one of those "I'll come back to it" and I forgot.
